I happened to be going through some old pics and came across pics taken prior to me joining the hairclubs. Mind you, I did the big chop twice before even knowing that's what they called it.

See <font color="red">"My Haircare Journey" </font>. I also have an album called, <font color="red">"When I reigned as wig/hairpiece queen." </font> I have a pic with a quickweave and my other "hairdos". Enjoy!

Boy! If I only knew then what I do now!!!

Very nice Diva. You wore the TWA WELL!!

Thanks, Armyqt... the problem is that once I got to the in between phase, I hadn't a clue what to do. You know that wasn't a very popular hairdo in 1994. It was all about push waves and anything that entailed gel and spritz... what I term "helmut hair".

I didn't like those kinds of styles...

Thanks for the compliments! I do know Frantz' name. If he's done hair shoots in NY, then
smile.gif
I might know him, although he primarily operates out of DC.

Thanks, Girl! Tried to represent on New Year's Eve. Cinderella transformed back to her tired lookin' self after the party though!

As for my brows, I use a combination of MAC Spiked and Strut, both of which are mechanical eyebrow pencils.

Is your daughter's hair natural? It's looks beautiful.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hey, Miosy! My daughter's hair was natural up until the day before Thanksgiving. I gave in and took her to the hairdresser and she got a relaxer.

Thanks, Girl!!! Trust me! It takes effort... even as a makeup artist. I have gotten very lazy since being pregnant. I don't even bother putting on makeup or anything. I have been quite the plain Jane. One day I passed by the mirror and was like, "UH-UH!!! Don't even tell nobody you a licensed esthetician and makeup artist. Not with those overgrown brows and broken out skin!!!
naughty.gif
" I decided that the New Year needed to be met with a new me and pulled myself togehter in the nick of time. Who says pregnant women can't be sexy? I despise the ugly looking maternity wear that look like big ole' tents. I got tons of compliments from men and women alike at the New Year's Eve party. Trust me... your husband will love it when you go the extra mile!

Furthermore, it's not like you can get into anymore "trouble!"

I didn't even think that you were the type to wear makeup. Looking at your avatar, that appears to be you IN MAKEUP!!! Am I right???
smile.gif
Lookin' good, Gal!!!

I plan to keep the braids in until sometime in February. I originally planned to do a relaxer Jan. 15, but now that I have braids, will wait until Feb. Good Lord! My hairdresser is going to work for that money... 5 months would have passed since the last relaxer!!!!

Stay in touch so I have someone to speak Japanese to... once I learn, that is!!!

Hai, watashi desu. Now I just wear lip gloss and sometimes I wear mascara.

Your braids are really nice. I'm still thinking about getting some.

If you got braids, in terms of leaving it in... dono gurai?

Also, I read a thread of yours where you critique the CD HHB and HM. You also bought up the Salerm 21 leave-in, which I know you really love using. I really want a good moisturizing leave-in. Everytime I go to the beauty supply, I pick up the Salerm, read the label, and put it back on the shelf. What is it that you really love about this product? I may just give it a try the next time I visit a beauty supply.

I would be leaving them in for two months at a time if I got them. The Crown and Glory plan. Right now it's a big "IF" but I would like to give it a try someday.

What I like about Salerm:

1. It goes into the hair really easily. it's easy to spread around and sinks right in.

2. It's essential for heat styling. It leaves your hair smooth and silky and gives it a high shine (especially when using heat to style your hair).

3. It leaves my hair really soft and moisturized.

4. Even though it's a protein leave-in, I've used it every day for two months straight with absolutely no problems at all, and got all of the benefits.

5. It allows me to detangle my hair with minimal shedding (sometimes with no shedding at all). It also allows for a sleeker base and canopy for my bun styles.

6. The moisture it gives my hair doesn't decrease as my hair dries. It is also not hard to the touch when it dries, and my hair can still be easily detangled once I take my dry hair out of my formerly wet bun.

7. Did I say that it leaves my hair soft, smooth, shiny, moisturized and protected from the elements (sunlight, heat, chlorine, saltwater, etc.)??

8. It keeps frizzies and flyaways at bay when I airdry my hair whether in a ponytail or out.

9. You don't have to use heat on your hair to use this product. For a whole summer, I used Salerm every day with no heat styling at all.

10. It's one of my base products which I can directly contribute to helping my hair grow longer. The protein in it helps strengthen the hair.

If you want to try, I have a bottle that is 1/4 full that I can give to you to try. There should be enugh for at least 3 uses. You really don't have to use a lot at all. I've had the bottle for about a year and a half. I just bought a new one today.

The only thing is that it has my name written all over it (you can still read all of the writing on the label)because, at the salon I used to go to, everyone would bring their own and it would get mixed up.

Girl, from what I can tell, you really LOVE

the Salerm 21 leave in.

It is definitely worth trying. I am doing the Crown and Glory method when I braid. The only thing that has kept me from doing the braids consistently is that I'm doing it myself and didn't trust anyone else to braid it. It's a lil' rough now that my "belly" is in the way. I only gave in when I was in Dallas as a cousin came over with her hair braided in partial cornrows going back and long. The braids felt nice and light and my cousin said she had no "head pain". Hence, I let the lady do mine. Furthermore, my last relaxer was in September and I really wanted to leave my hair alone. I was able to sleep on mine without any pain as well. I will take you up on your offer to try the remaining 1/4 bottle of Salerm. Let me know if you need any money to offset shipping costs, or if you'd like, we can always hook up. I think that I will apply it diluted to my braids and then use the full strength once my hair is out of braids. (I'll probably wash and deep condition at least 2 weeks after removing braids before that retouch.) I've been shampooing with diluted Keracare shampoo and conditioner, alternating sessions with diluted Pantene Relaxed and Naturals shampoo and conditioner. I spray Surge on the scalp (I also see you had problems with Surge
frown.gif
It seems to be working fine for me thus far... been using it since November, I believe), follow with S-curl sprayed along braid shaft, then a coating of Isoplus oil sheen to seal in the moisture. I wanted a good leave-in to coat the hair... something other than Infusium for damaged hair, which, by the way, I mix with their moisturizing leave-in for dry hair. For me, it's all about strengthening and moisturizing.
smile.gif

P.S. It's a pity that I don't know any NY LHCFer that knows how to braid using the Crown and Glory Method. The beauty is that we'd share the same haircare goals and could braid each other's hair.....

I think I can braid using the Crown and Glory method. I can braid other people's hair but I can't do it on myself. I have her video and it seems easy to follow.

Just a few minutes ago, I taught myself how to braid a Herringbone braid (I uploaded the pictures to my album).

I'm not sure how the Salerm will perfom on braids (it may sit on top of them), but you hair should benefit from it.
If you want it, just PM me.

I have the video as well and that's how I learned. I did it on myself on more than one occasion and did it on my daughter about twice. I'll PM you. Once you get it down, it's quite easy. I think the concern comes from the actual person whose doing them. Are they careful with their technique....
