No direct heat, air-drying is the best for length retention. Sleep with 100% silk scarves on satin pillowcase, cotton will break off your ends while you sleep!
I have a mixture in my handy spray bottle that I grab and use. Right now mine contains a third water, one third Infusium 23 leave-in, and braid spray.
Funny thing, I am getting my hair braided soon and I had the idea to mix Braid spray and Infusium 23. I think I will try this based off your experience with it![]()

Now that I have gotten my goody box from Puritans, I'll be adding aloe vera juice into the mixture, probably replacing half the water with aloe juice.
bhringraj/hibiscus oil
What does the aloe vera juice do?
what works for me:Here's a rough template:
Current length:WL
Hair type: 3C4A
Relaxed, natural, texlaxed, BKT or other?: relaxed/transitioning
How long have you been on a Healthy Hair Journey? 4 yrs this year
What is your reggie?: cowash once a week, Shampoo and condition once a week, Deep condition once a week. Protein treatmeant once a month. I prepoo with vatika oil to detangle before washing now that I have alot of newgrowth. Rollerset with a leave-in or flatiron when I dont have time. I prefer how my hair feels and look when I rollerset. Moisturize and seal ends with oil every other day. Wear bonnet at night...most times. Thats all.

Hmm... in the Hip Length challenge (posters are WL or MBL) not one poster mentioned MN. In my years on LHCF, I have noticed that the ladies with the longest hair have the shortest reggies.
I always wondered if you ladies were able to have simpler reggies after using more extensive reggies to get you to BSL or longer.
WONDERFUL WONDERFUL THREAD! One thing that I notice to be a consistent tip is NO DIRECT HEAT and PROTECTIVE STYLING. I mean take it from the ladies who have achieved BSL WL MBL. Proof is in the pudding that these simple techniques work. There is no magic potions or tricks involved.
Yep. I used Megatek for a couple of months- but when you take a look at the waistlength thread - I don't recall reading one lady mention growth aides. The consistent reggie stressed PS, moisture and no direct heat. Since, then I put away the Megatek and yes, my hair is retaining...I just made APL.![]()
