BRAID/TWIST REGIMENS '08

This is what I do.. The first 2 weeks I just oil my scalp 1x a day with BT and use a little HE break free leave in and NTM repair serum. After the 2 weeks.. I wash once a week and condition once a week and co wash once a week. I also deep condition every 9 days because when I was doing it more often, the conditioner made the braids slip out of my hair because they were so soft.. HTH

do cornrows count?

if so, all i do is shampoo, condition and re-braid every 1-2 weeks depending on how well they hold up. i deep condition when i feel like it and i spritz w/ diluted conditioner every few days.

I cowash every week now and conteplating diluting clarifying shampoo once a month. I also use essential oil for moisture.

Although my hair is short right now, it has grown to the current length braiding monthly with small braids using my own hair since January 2008.
  • I use my home-made hair concoction on my scalp nightly and daily
  • I use garnier leave-in conditioner everyday
  • I put castor oil and conditioner on the ends and baggy 3-4 times week
  • I deep condition weekly
  • I shampoo with diluted clarifying shampoo weekly
  • I rinse with warm water and conditioner 2-3 times week
  • I recently added MTG to my hair on the weekend only because it stinks!
My hair loves this!

I wash twice a week; could be a full wash (shampoo, conditioner, ACV rinse) or just a conditioner wash followed by ACV rinse. I DC once a week. Redo the braids as needed: usually when watching TV I'll feel for loose ones and redo them, mostly the ones near a parting that will show when I style my hair. I don't use leave-ins or sprays, nor do I apply anything to my scalp. My hair seems to do well w/o them and I don't get any matting, itches, or breakouts.

Wash once a week, usually with ayurvedics. Put in twists every other week. Alternate protien/DC treatments every other week. Love.

I'd really like to hear more too! I'm looking for a good reggie while wearing braids. My hair normally gets super dry, but I had no idea how to care for my hair...with this site, I'm learning.
