WHOA That looks orange.

I'm always boucncing around different sahades of red. I think I have my most recently lighter red shade in my fotki(bad idea to do it in the summer I lightened to a brassier color then I had hoped). Right now I'm a darker red, like tyra ish, but I'll probably go a touch lighter when the sun comes out. My fav black red head was michelle from destiny's child. When their last album was out she had a couple of shades of red that I thought were divine. From a dark coca cola red to a lighter more pronounced red. Loved it! You can google for some shots.

I see quit few blacks here with natural red hair. Usually red heads, black and whites have freckles.
Hm.. interesting I have a tint of red hair and I have freckles.
My hair is a very dark brown with a reddish tint and a few auburn strands.

My hair is the same. I used to get blond streaks in the summer as a child, my hair was more a sandy color then, but as I got older the brown darkened, and the blond became red/auburn.

My aunt has red hair 4B and freckles. She lives in Dominican Republic now I asked her if she keeps hher natural color she said yes.

There's a few people in my fam with red hair. Mostly red streaks throughout black hair and they have freckles. My moms hairdressers hair is naturally red but she dyes it blonde.

I HAD the most beautiful auburn colored hair. Folks used to ask me what color I had in it and I even had a new hairdresser put something on a cotton ball and then on my hair to see if the 'color' would come out. (I got up and left)

Then I found LHCF and went crazy and henna'd my hair and it turned it dark. My hair is growing out and I can see the natural color on the top, but those grays! Where the hell did they come from? I can't get the right rinse color to cover them, and most of my hair is the dark from the henna

'm not going to put a rinse in it for a while to see what the real color is, and start from there. I should have left well enough alone!

My ex husband and his family are Irish. He and his sister both have bi-racial children. His sister has a daughter with naturally red hair and she got that because they do have red hair in their family.

She was so cute as a child but I always thought she would look odd as she grew up! She had red eyebrows and lashes and everything. :look:

I have not seen her as a teenager, but I have heard that she has grown up to be a gorgeous young lady and the red hair fits her well. But, her skin is pretty fair, too.

Some people do have red hair or reddish hair. My mother had reddish hair growing up. The kids would call her "sugahead," and she would cry. But when my uncle went back to my grandfather's country, he found that a number of the African/Carib peoples had reddish hair. Must be something in the population. I get streaks and my sister hair was somewhat reddish growing up too...

But people whose hair is a quite bright red/almost orange shade are certainly not as common. When you do see them, they really stand out.

That's how my niece is - BRIGHT red/orange hair.

My mom has red hair. It's gorgeous and long. I've always admired her hair. It's very unique, as I haven't seen anyone with the color(s), as it has darker and lighter colors in it without highlights. It's like God gave her natural red, light red, and auburn highlights. It's annoying for her though, because everyone asks her what color it is, and she says to ask God.

Oh sorry, I guess you're just looking for pics. I just read that. I thought you were wondering if anyone had real red hair of African American decent.

I love, love, LOVE my hair the color it is now. My natural color is a sandy/dirty blonde, and I always used to get asked what color I used even as a kid and HATED it, but grew to love it. I had one stylist that always used to say "this is HER color y'all!" but one part of my family has red hair and freckles and it does stem from the Caribbean for us. I don't know, interesting...

I had red hair till the age of like 7 then it got darker. The only place i have freckles are my hands. It has red tints in the summer or i use Henna to enhance. But i've been dying my hair since i was 14 so who knows my original. I was called Duracell at school:nono:

My aunt used to color her hair red. I didn't know it wasn't her real color until she decided to sport a salt and pepper twa later on. I've always wanted red hair. I had magenta streaks in college, but if I wasn't chicken I'd get a nice natural looking deeeep red.

When I had a relaxer my hair was a natural orangish-red. People use to ask me if it was my natural hair-color all the time. It's darkened up since I became natural.

Here's a pic of my natural hair pressed. It has lighter tints at the front, but it's a lot darker than it use to be. It's like an brown now, right? I wonder if the chemicals from the perm made my hair a lot lighter before?:perplexed

My mother is a natural redhead... as she ages her hair is becoming a darker-auburnish brown color but when she was younger her hair was bright fire-engine red! The red hair gene skips generations in my family, none of my mother's children have red hair so either me or my brothers are likely to have a little brown-skin redheaded baby when we start having children of our own.

i'm mixed but i have red hair and freckles which i got from my dad's side (he's black) his sister had red hair and freckles. :)

I know about 4 or 5 of the top of my head...they have reddish auburn and hair and a beige tan skin color with freckles. I think its so cute:yep:
