Genetically it isn't that common. But if it helps, I have red hair at my temples, my mom has red hair at her temples and crown, and I had an aunt with all red hair.

That Ronald McDonald red is a NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. While sitting waiting on my daughter and her friends to get off a ride at Universal Studios, somebody's momma walked by with one of those quick weave hair styles in BLOOD, BLOOD, BRIGHT RED. I heard the white woman sitting a few feet from me say to her family "that woman looks like raggedy ann."sad:

I love auburn hair on black women. My hair used to be the color of Tyra's in the first picture, but when I started going to film school, I was told to dye it brown or black to make me more "marketable". I miss it.

I like red hair too. It can look really polished on black women if it's done right IMHO.

I remember Tracy (one of board gurus) used to dye her hair red occasionally and she used to teach us how to use haircolor on relaxed hair w/o damaging it. She also showed us how to take care of relaxed + dyed hair.

I think red hair looks good on black women - the 'natural' red color, not that Ronald McDonald mess...... I've wanted GOOD red hair since I was old enough to understand people had different hair colors. *sigh*

But my hair, she no like the bleach.

I LUVVVVVVVVVVV red hair. Rihanna's assistant has the hottest shade right now. Though it's a lil hard 2 c, u can still tell it's gorgeous! It's taking all my might to not get this color! LOL

Red hair runs in my family...my hair was red when I was younger and people always thought I dyed it! I used to really hate it and wanted darker hair..but was too chicken to dye it.

I see quit few blacks here with natural red hair. Usually red heads, black and whites have freckles.

Yeah, I never really liked the way that it looked w/her skin tone though. It was like it was too much red or smthg.

My oldest sister has about the same color hair as Tyra. People always ask her what dye she uses and when she tells them it's her natural color they're shocked. Funny thing is we have the same mother and father and my natural hair color is jet black........

I have always died my hair (all shades of) red. I love red, and feel it suits me best. Right now my hair is in braids, and the colours I used are auburn (mixed with ginger at the front for highlights ).

I don't see many black women with (nice) red hair, most of the ones I see have that nasty brassy type of red (mostly braids or weaves) or blonde or plain ol' brown/black.

My little sister (she's 21) was born with red hair. We call her Dirty Red. She colors her hair now. But my nephew has the hair color my sister was born with.

My moms hair natural color is close to this color. My niece has blonde hair(shes 2) and Im sure her hair is going to turn this color. And I had a classmate from high school who had naturally auburn hair and a best friend from college who is naturally red head. I dyed my hair this color in 06.

Tyra's colorist definately did it right! If you look closely u can see tha thtere is more than one tone of red in there and everything. It looks stylish and fun, yet still conservative enough to wear everyday.

LIl Kim's colorist just missed it IMO. She was almost there.

Toni Braxtons are okay, but I would be upset if my colorist did this to me. Mainly b/c color is such a risk and my hair would probably not be as healthy. So, the results of the color would have to be outstanding to make it worth the risk.

My friend's hair is naturally red and it's so pretty. She has blonde highlights and they look great.
