I take 10mg Freeda biotin. My growth has definitely sped up. I'm getting an inch a month.

Do any of you also take a B-complex also? I read that you can throw off your "internal" B-vitamin balance if you take too much of one B-vitamin.

I take 5,000mcg or 5mg of Puritan Pride. Three in the morning and two in the afternoon. Natori I also take solgars b-complex. I was told biotin doesn't function properly w/o the other b's, and that everything works synergestically when taken together.

Right, I read that also.

WOW DSD, an inch and a half! Looking at your hair progress, I am definitely a believer. Biotin is going on my to buy list. All these months Ive been on this board and I never gave biotin a second thought until now.

I think Biotin mostly comes in pills or maybe capsules. I've never heard of anyone taking Biotin in a powder...it can come in liquid form I think.

Too bad it's not every month. My growth usually stays consistant at 3/4 to 1 inch a month with a Surge of 1 1/2 inches maybe two months in a row. I am currently trying to get more that two months of excellerated growth. If I accomplish this I will post what I do and my results.

I will definitely have to try this. I am currently taking a prenatal vitamin (not for pregnancy, just for the high dose of iron and other vitamins) and it has 600 mcg of Biotin. I will get another supplement to bump of that dosage.

Is there a technique to measure monthly growth on natural hair?

We're taking almost all the same things (even the Surge), I don't take the digestive enzymes and for Biotin I'm taking VS also but haven't noticed an increased even though I stepped it up from 5 mg to 10 mg a day. Hmmm, the Freeda Biotin's are a bit more but....

I've been looking online and I'm wondering if there is a significant difference between what I see as "Biotin" and "d-Biotin"? I see that the Freeda variety is referred to as "d-Biotin" whereas VS is "Biotin" and PP has Biotin as "Biotin" however in their MultiVitamin B complex, it's as 'd-Biotin'.

I'm no science major by any stretch so any info you ladies might have would be great for answering this for me. The chemical structure for d-Biotin is C10H16N2O3S (Ya'll know how to write that scientifically).

I've just noticed that some specify d-Biotin and others do not.. I'm wondering why this would be.

TIA!!

I take 6mg daily (in the form of a pill) and it has helped my hair growth; I've been able to achieve and retain 5 inches in 5 months

OMG!!! Your hair is incredible! I purchased GNC's HS&N on yesterday, but I'm on my way to purchase the biotin! I'm due for a trim in two weeks, but I may just do it now, especially after viewing your pics. Truly amazing!

I don't do the Surge anymore. I do think that switching brands will help you with your growth. Freeda Brand is a more potent brand of biotin and it absorbs very quickly. I have gotten the tabs wet before and they just sort of melt!
I think the Freeda is worth it especially with the results you get!!:)
