I think this thread has been started before. However I think it is nice to hear the best compliments you have gotten since using tips from the board.

I thought you said your hair doesn't grow.

Your hair is getting real long.

Your hair is sitting on your shoulders.

These are the compliments that I've always gotten:

"Your hair is so thick, my hair would never do that."

"Oooh! Ahhh! Your hair is so black and shiny!

"I want my hair to be thick, but not as thick as yours".

"Girl, you've got a mane on you".

"You have hair like Ashanti". (I try not to call out anybody's wigs or weaves, so I just took it as a compliment).

"You can't cut your hair because you represent for black women with long hair that's all their's".

It's taken me a while to learn how to take compliments on my hair without thinking that other people thought I was being vain.

"Your hair is getting so long"

"Your hair is so thick"

"Your hair is so pretty"

"Teach me how to grow my hair like that, too"

My best hair compliment came one day when I was in the store. I could hear two women in line behind me talking about how pretty someone's hair was. One of the ladies said, "...that's her real hair too, you can tell it's not a weave." I wanted to turn around so badly to see who they were talking about but I didn't want to seem noisy. I felt a tap on my shoulder and when I turned around the lady told me that my hair was pretty. They were talking about me! I thanked them and left the store feeling pretty good. It's always nice to have someone compliment you on your hard work.

"Girl, your hair grew back quick!"

"I hate you and your long hair!" (it was a joke)

" Wow! Your hair has really grown! You should stop wearing those buns all the time" (this came from a cranky old white lady who has never had anything nice to say to me so you know my jaws were dropped, lol)

My best compliment came from a complete stranger who bluntly asked "is that all your hair?" Anyone else would have been offended, but I think the woman simply lacked tactfulness.

Wow! Your hair has really grown!

It's just growing! You go girl!

Your hair is thick! (not really)

Love the hi-lights! (they're natural

)

Those are just a few. I've had people grab it too and ask if it's real and it's not even long! lol! This usually happens when it's full and bouncy on a not so humid day.

I've been told by friends and my hairdresser: "Your hair has really grown"

That's the main one. At work I was told by the receptionist: 'your hair is nice and thick' and I just got someone else at work interested in improving her hair. She proudly showed me a GNC Hair Health tablet bottle she bought at lunch time last week. (I didn't even mention this to her). Its a step in the right direction. I've told her about this website though.

"Wow your hair grows fast!"

"Don't you even think about cutting all of that pretty hair!"

"Girl I had to do a double-take, look at you with all that hair!"

"Girl, you have some pretty hair and it's getting so long. How much longer are you going to grow it!"

"Get out of my chair (my beautician) with all this hair!"
