Does your hair respond well to the baggie system? I'm beginning to think mine doesn't.

Awwww, sawwwwy to hear that. My hair loves the baggie. I baggie 24/7. What products are you using to moisturize and seal your ends?

My hair only responds well to the baggy treatment if my ends are wet and I seal them with oil. If I try to baggy on dry ends with moisturizer and oil, I get a hard, crunchy mess. When I use water and oil, my hair stays soft, smooth, and moisturized inside my baggy.

My hair responds very well to the baggie method. My hair has retained it's length for the first time in about three years.

My hair responds well to the baggie. I moisturize with a few different things, just depending on how I feel. I use NTM silk touch, garnier fructice leave in, kids organic shea butter dentangler, and cantu leave-in. Then I'll seal with hot six oil (I really like this stuff :) ). I will just twist my hair, and then wrap it around in a bun, then I will put a baggie over it w/ evoo inside of the baggie (lately i've been using a plastic shower cap a sort of wrap it around twice kinda like you would a scrunchie), then I'll put a ponytail holder over it (I won't double it so that it's not tight) and a then a footie (one of those kinds that are really small that you'd wear if you wanted to wear heals, but did not want it to show :look: ). I put a scarf on to keep my edges in place, and that's it :) . In the morning, my hair is soft and well moisturized.

I don't baggie all the time. However, when I do, I only baggie during the day when I put on my bun or phony pony and at night I apply carrot oil to my hair and a silk scarf and then in the morning I moisturize my hair with ORS Olive Oil or a little humetress before applying the bun. Once in a ponytail, I apply either profectiv or humetress to my "small" ponytail and seal with EVOO or Jojoba oil. Just touching my ends to apply the humetress and EVOO was causing my hair to come out in strands? I'm not sure what the problem is.

Recently, I haven't been baggying but just applying Vatika oil on my hair at night and then applying humetress to my ends and sealing with EVOO prior to bunning and my hair seems to like it--I'm not losing as much hair as I was with baggying daily.

Do you think my hair will break off using 100% human hair to form the bun without using the baggie? I used the baggie because I was afraid the my hair would rub against the hair and break.

I'm still trying to learn what my hair loves. It's very touchy.

Yay

When I first started, I used S-Curl but now experiment with different products and found a difference. I now use a moisturizing conditioner and oil on dry hair (ends only), tuck into a bun, baggie and wear a phony pony over the baggy.

I aslo find that some conditioners "baggy" better for me than others.

Hey cat eyes, I just checked out your new album and your hair is the bomb!! Great shine! You are obviously doing something right.

Tsmith, do you put your hair in a bun and baggie at night and then apply your satin scarf?

so when you take your hair down in the morning, how do you wear it and is it damp or just moisturized?

My hair didn't rettain any length again until I incorporated the baggie. I'm still early in the game, but its working!

Hell Yay for me.

I only get breakage when my hair is too wet from baggying. or if I am being too hard on my ends. My baggy regimen is simple. I baggy 24/7 except the night that I wash. I have to let them ends airdry atleast 60%.

I moisturize my ends, with a cheapie conditioner (Suave, V05 one of them). Then seal with extra virgin unrefined coconut oil or vatika oil.

In the day time, I add my satin scrunchie, double tie it, then moisturize my ends, seal, apply moisturizer and oil to the baggie, twist the ponytail tail, apply baggie, and cover with a bun cover.

At night, I moisturize ( I do not seal at night), twist the ends in one big twist, apply the baggie (add a lil' bit of moisturizer to the baggy first), and secure it very loosely with the satin scrunchie. Wallah!

I went from shoulder length in Nov 2005 to BSL in September 2006, with the baggie method. Now after chopping a few inches I am back to APL and I plan on being back to BSL in June/July and inching towards WSL in december. With the baggie I retain ALL of my length.:D

BAGGYING HAS WORKED WELL FOR ME, MY ENDS ARE IN A MUCH BETTER CONDITION, AND I'M ABLE TO RETAIN MORE MOISTURE. BUT I DONT BAGGY DURING THE DAY, I BAGGY AT NIGHT WITH ORS OLIVE OIL MOISTURIZER AND BLACK CASTOR OIL, OR S-CURL AND BLACK CASTOR OIL. I WEAR A PLASTIC HAIR CAP UNDER MY SATIN SCARF, BEFORE GOING TO BED. AND SO FAR SO, GOOD. I MAKE SURE AND KEEP MY ENDS PROTECTED DURING THE DAY IN A LOOSE BUN, WHICH DOESNT PUT ANY STRAIN ON MY HAIR.

i use the baggy method, i have to apply an creamy moisturiser first and lots of oil on dry/damp hair and i'm usually okay.

I just lightly pull my own hair into a ponytail and apply profective healthy ends or mango butter to my ends and then I seal with kemi oyl and put the baggie on and then put my silk scarf on. Everytime I remoisturize my ends I spray surge 14 on my ends to wet it and then I put mango butter or profective ends, seal with kemi oyl, baggie, put satin scarf on....I have to order some more surge 14 because they don't sell it in stores...I'm mad that I'm out of surge because I use it as a detangler too:) In the mornings I remoisturize and add a bun cover over my baggie and then put accessories around the bun cover.

My hair was a complete disaster and the baggy method really helped. I was able to retain my ends as my hair grew.

Baggie method works great for me only wish I had tried it sooner.
I use a moisturizer like UBH and Black Castor oil or Jojoba oil.
I have been able to retain more length and my ends look better.

Using the baggie method has worked wonders for me!! I baggy my whole head at night, during the day I put my hair in a lose bun with my newly attained bear claw hair clip. If I'm able to retain everything that grows out of my head this year I'll be PAST bsl stretched by the end of this year!!! :D

I like the baggy method, I use it on occasion overnight. I dab a rich, creamy leave-in or some conditioner and seal with oil, coil my hair in a bun, put a baggie over it and secure loosely with a satin scrunchie.

Big Nay from me! My hair was over-moisturized and there was some breakage (not too much but enough to notice). I did it three times before I gave up. It just isn't for me. I was using Profective break-free or Profectiv mega growth and sealing w/jajoba oil. Now I just tuck my ends into into my hair to keep the ends moisturized and my hair remains moisturized w/absolutely no breakage.

Yeah yeah yeah for me!

I have had problems with extremely bad hair for ever! So I baggie and now my ends are like butta!

I keep it simple though. I keep a spray bottle of distilled water, lightly spritz my ends with that and seal with an oil (castor or coconut are my favorites). I do this whenever I know I will have my hair up and my hair loves it!!!

Because I don't baggie my full head, it is just moisturized. I apply a little humetress to my hair and seal with EVOO. I then put my hair up baggie the ends and put on the bun.

Yay for me. I use lacio lacio, keracare jojoba oil and seal with evoo and kemy oil (sometimes I add coconut oil). I only baggy at night. In the morning after I remove the baggy, my ponytail is so soft and moist.

I only tried it less than a hand full of times but that was my experience too

Hey pink, when i moisturize it at night it is dry to begin with, and I don't use a lot of moisturizer or oil...so in the morning, it's just moisturized :) . If I use too much product, or the wrong product, i've noticed that my hair will be hard. And when i was cw'ing and moiturizing and bunning my hair while it was still wet/damp, then it would be wet the next morining, and for a few days after that for that matter :) .
