I TRIED TO GET A SAMPLE FROM THE STORE AND SHE CLAIMED NOT TO HAVE ANY. PLEASE TELL ME HOW THE TREATMENT WORKED?

They told my co-worker the same thing she said the rep told her there return policy is 100 percent guaranteed and they stopped giving out samples because if you don't like it you can bring it back and get all your money back, so my coworker bought it and of course never returned it now she's going for bigger bottles lol

Girl, I knew you had to be jiving, because Aveda is the bomb! I love Aveda!!!!

Word!!! I wasn't too crazy about the brand at first but after spending all that money I was d-mn well going to try again. Well, I now absolutely love the Damage Remedy line. I just got a liter of the conditioner for $50 (ebay) and it is excellent !! I have some of the Brilliant products and those are great, as well. Can't wait to try the Smooth Infusion.

I think I'm in love with Aveda too!

Yesterday, I got a shampoo, finish (blowdry and flat ironed), and trim at an Aveda salon. She used the following products:
Aveda Smooth Infusion Shampoo & Conditioner
Aveda Hang Straight Straightening Lotion
Aveda Brilliant Universal Styling Creme
Aveda Air Control Hair Spray

She used these products very sparingly (she said 25 cents worth). Anyway, my hair is so soft, light, bouncy, feathery, and just lovingly touchable. :weird: And this stylist got rid of all my splits and knots I had!

I do not plan on straightening my hair like that any time soon again, but I would like to try the Aveda Be Curly line for wearing my hair in its shrunken state. I would like to see if using these products rather than the cheapo products makes a difference when wearing my hair in its natural state. :)

Poohbear,

Did you take any pictures? I would love to see how your hair turned out. I've thought about treating myself to a shampoo/condition session at an Aveda Salon. But, I'm so afraid that they will wack my hair off.

Poohbear, How did you like the Air Control Hair spray? Was your stiff or sticky at all, was the smell okay? I was thinking of buying their hairspray from the brilliant line, but the Air Control Spray seems like it may be good.

Now did you go to an Aveda Store or a lifestyle/concept salon? Because at the store, they will ALWAYS give you samples. It's a whole 'nother issue at the lifestyle/concept salons - they never want to give samples.

I went to the Aveda store yesterday for the first time. I purchased the USC. While at the counter I asked the girl if she had any samples she could give me and she said no, they don't have any. I said that there are many others who go to the Aveda stores who buy and ask for samples and they get them. She said that they don't do it anymore. Is this correct? If not, I'm going back there and ask to speak to a manager. I did purchase something, so if she should have given me a sample when I asked, she should have done so.

Im gonna have to save up to get me some Aveda. My hair LOVED it but my checkin account was like awwwwww nawwwwwww...!

I have no probs w/ BSS/DS products at ALL. But I do know that my hair liked that Aveda DR treatment. Im not really big on buying poo - I usually water down whatever I use neway. But I plan on investing in the Conditioner and Intensive treatment.

No please stop...I cant buy this stuff. Come on, I got student loans and stuff to pay off.....

Eh...its ok I guess I will have to skip a couple of meals here and there during the week...

No this is not correct! I get samples at the Aveda store that I go to. I can also get samples from the Aveda concept salon closet to my house, but the other 2 salons in my area won't give them out. It depends on where you go, sometimes the staff at some of the stores and salons have some stank attitudes especially when dealing with AA customers! I have been going to Aveda and buying products since the 90's.

After reading this yesterday, I pulled out the Damage Remedy last night. I don't use it on a regular basis since it is so expensive. But, my hair hasn't looked this good in weeks. I need to go to Aveda at lunch and pick up some maintenance products.

This thread is not good for a product junkie like myself.

I have been using Aveda since about 2000, and this is the one thing that I hate. To some degree, I feel that it is wrong to pay $$$ in a store/salon that treats you like crap (That is why I do not go to certain BSS). Since 2000, there are a lot more AA employed by Aveda and Aveda salons/stores in general. Therefore, I have more choice, and I am treated better in the newer places that I frequent. At the same time, it bothers me that Aveda still allows people to work there with ugly attitudes to certain group of people-namely us.

For the ladies who are relaxed, which line of aveda do you use? My hair, no matter what is done needs detangling. Is the damage remedy conditioner moisturizing enough?

Also, after your hair got on point, did you switch from the DR line to another line, or can the DR always be used?

Thank you, sis....guess I'll have to take a little trip over to the Aveda store today and show them how "not" to do things like this to an LHCF'er!!!

I am relaxed and I use most of the products in the brilliant line. I have tried a sample of the DR treatment, with good results, I did use Elucence moisture balance conditioner afterwards. I plan on trying the full DR line and the Smooth Infusions this summer.

I am relaxed and have had years of damage from micros and I use the Damage Remedy Line. I love it love it love it. I was about to go crazy on the OP for the title of this thread...then I read her post;) Aveda is my hair savior right now and I am so excited I found this product. I still have some other staples but thats only because I havent tried other products from them yet.

Thanks Nikki. Any reason for switching to a new line, or just want to try it?

For others who have used, how moisturizing is the DR conditioner?

Anyone still using the sap moss concentrate? I was in the Aveda store and an Aveda division rep was in there and came over to ask if she could help me with anything. I asked her what is the best way to use the sap moss concentrate. She said to use it after using the sap moss shampoo, but before your conditioner or with your conditioner or as as overnite treatment. I bought it and have used it several ways. I love, love it...

Yes, I did take pictures the day after getting my hair done, but I have not uploaded them in my album yet. I was a little afraid of letting her trim my hair too for fear of her wacking it off, but she did a great professional job! She only trimmed about 1/4" to 1/2" off different layers of my hair. I really needed this trim given that the last time I trimmed my own hair was back in February. Plus, I always question the experience of the stylist before I let her do my hair. She was a White woman with 20 years of hair care experience and has worked on relaxed and natural hair of Black women. ;)

No particular reason other than I like to rotate products and other members here have had good results with the line.

No stiffness, no stickiness! She sprayed it on very lightly and held the container about 6 inches or more away from my hair. The hairspray came out of the container like a mist, similar to an oil sheen spray. I'm not sure how it smell...it didn't really have a smell.

What is the condition of your hair now? My first Aveda product was the Sap Moss - my hair didn't like it:mad: The second was DR - my hair thrived, as it wasn't in the best condition at the time. Now I'm in deep, deep love with the Smooth Infusion line.

I'd say try the DR & if you don't like it - take it right back and try something else :)

I just bought the Aveda Elixir and I love it!!!:D And I want to try the Damage Remedy line or the Smooth Infusion line, but I want to know if either of them are made for natural hair, or if one works better on natural hair??

I guess its all in what products you buy and your budget. These are pretty much the only hair products I buy and I make the rest myself. I buy online from aveda.com - and if I recall my last bill was about 65 bucks. I'll usually buy a liter of a basic like shampure plus one or two sap moss and that lasts me several months. So overall the spread for me comes out to $20-$25/month which isn't bad.

**sigh** you ladies are dangerous:p I only tried the be curly enhance cream (forget the correct name), but I want to try the entire line, including the DR. My poor pockets.

WHY DID I COME IN HERE!!!!

This stuff is so expensive! :(

But ya'll make it sound so good....:perplexed

**sniff sniff **

Maybe I will just sample some stuff with intentions of returning. :look:

Alot of Aveda products are really good. Believe it or not the products are reallly concentrated so you don't have to use much at all for the products to be effective. Good ahead try a few things you never know, you may find something that you really like

I've been preaching Aveda for a while because it works. My hair is fine and relaxed and I have no damage. I overprocess my hair BONESTRAIGHT  and I have NO DAMAGE because of Aveda. I also use UBH conditioner occasionally because of what it did to Glamourgirl's hair but Aveda DR does the trick for me. The only time I put it down is when I'm deep in my stretch and need something more slippery so I'll break out the Silicon Mix. Otherwise, Aveda is it.
