As It Gets Longer , I Get Lazier - Heat Free For A Month

I noticed that the longer my hair gets the less I am inclined to style it lol:look::perplexed:lachen:. I use to dc and flatiron weekly and it was so hard for me to not use my beloved sedu, but for the last month I haven't used any heat and that is amazing for me and it's not even hard. I actually resent any time I feel like I have to straighten it. Which will be this weekend. I'm going to a sportbar to see a boxing match with friends and I really just wanna wear it wild, but I can't lol. I'm mad about that lol.

I just dc and airdry it. I do it maybe 2 times a week. I love that fresh super big and bouncy hair and I just put a headband on and go.:look: Or I put it in a fat bun. I'm loving the fat bun right now, but I remember when my hair was shorter I hated buns and I always flatironed so I can see and feel the length. I want to do a length check and update for y'all, and I will when I flatiron this weekend.

Anyone else like that? If I feel this way now, I'm pretty sure when I reach my goal length I won't be flatironing then either, lol. I guess I'mma need to get the 60oz container of Silicon Mix. Is that the biggest jar? It's all I ever want to use. All those new products I bought and I don't even want to try them. I'mma use them on my sister.

Mhmm! I used to blow dry after every wash and now I'm just TOO lazy. I just wash, condition, air-dry. Finally someone with a similar regimen on this site!

Aireen I airdry because it's work free. I brush and gel my edges and tie them down and let the rest just hang. I use to use 100 different leave ins to, lol. Now just one.

Yep, our regimens are similar. I air-dry because it's hassle-free as well but I don't use any leave-ins or products in my hair. I used to use 100 different things too, who knew that I didn't really need all that stuff I was buying, could've spent that money on clothing.

Same here! :yep:
Now that I'm natural, my regimen has become even more carefree and laid back.
I went from co-washing every other day to once a week. Signature bun all.the.time.
Recently wore my hair flatironed/down and I didn't know how to act, I'm so used to airdried hair!!

I was reading this post like...wow i can't wait to have her hair issues lol...ur hair is beautiful!

I totally feel you on this OP. I used to DC and blowdry and hot curl every week sometimes 2x a week! But now that I'm MBL it's like I'm so over my hair. Most of the time I don't even think about my hair until other people mention how long it is.

leona2025 I love when you post because I just drool at your avi. I ain't gone eeeven much lie. I didn't even read the OP. :nono: And errr, whassup with your Fotki? I'm tired of clicking on that mug and it's nothing there! :lachen:

The same happened for me. I wear buns a lot more and rarely feel like styling my hair these days because of the fatness of my buns. I even like to do the haphazard looking messy high bun that I use to see the white girls wear and envied. lol And then on days I want my hair down, I airdry about 80% in a bun, take it down and fluff. Longer hair definitely makes it easier to have healthier hair practices.

:yep: My biggest goal was to get my hair the same length it was when I BC'd. Now that it is, and then some, I can relax and don't feel the need to "length check" by straightening it. I probably won't straighten until the fall.

Your Cheeziness Thanks girl! lol. Umm I'm locked out my fotki because I don't want to pay for a subscription, lol,:ohwell:. I will cause I want my pictures.

NikStarrrI do the high messy buns all the time and then just throwing in some hair candy to jazz it up, lol.

I really just don't feel like straight hair is necessary anymore. I use to straightening so much so I could be sure it was growing and now I just let it be wild and free, lol. I am proud of it though and all the work I put into it. So I'm going to wash and condition tomorrow. And straighten:perplexed. Then I won't be straightening anymore for the whole summer possibly longer. We shall see. I'm glad I've lost my addiction. I use to count the days until I could dc and flatiron and have that fresh flat iron look.

That (the boldfaced line) is the truth:yep:. There were periods when this lady would wash and set and dry her hair 2-3 times per week and sleep in rollers just about every night.

Rollerset hair couple days ago and the last time before that was 4 months prior.

Now rollersets are the frequency of what relaxers used to be :lachen:... "I is free nahw".

Omg so many sleepless nights sleeping in rollersets. Cricked up neck. Not for me anymore. I's free too.

Man I cant wait to get some length so I can take it easy like you ladies (currently Im APL). You know that saying a watched pot never boils I feel like Im staring that pot down lol I keep wanting to straighten to length check but I gotta be careful of further heat damage. I think Im gonna get a half wig so I can just be hair lazy and leave my hair alone for a while

Man I could have written the first post. I know for a fact that I'm hair lazy because I relaxed my hair today and couldn't bother to straighten it!

The longer your hair is the more opportunity you have to be lazy. It's a double edged sword.

Your hair will enjoy a break from the heat, that's for sure!

When I'm in lazy mode, I just bun and leave it be. Or wash n go (but that gets problematic when done for too long)

I cant wait to feel this way- im apl and all it will take for me to be lazy is full bsl but i will continue to ps until that happens (crossing fingers that it happens at some point this year)

Raises Hand, I have it under a cap, I am really Lazy! I don't even feel like doing anything with it this week. Looking at y hair cleanser and trying to convince myself I need to wash it!

Hello everyone :)

I think laziness to a certain degree has helped me grow my hair so long (caring for it but also leaving it be)

Lady P, I'm glad your on you tube, but I can't subscribe yet ( I think there is something wrong with the network.
@ Allicat, that bun is gorgeous, I love it.

I've been super duper lazy and my hair feels like hay LOL
I haven't been DC'ing like I used to. I was working 60 hours a week and going to grad school, plus taking care of my family so there was no time for me. I'm going to do a nice amla treatment, get a pedicure, try to look more human LOL

Oh and my hair is past WL and it just takes sooooooooo long to do. I can't even imagine what its gonna be like at hip length. I'm definitely gonna have to take better care of my hair. I've worked way too hard to start acting like I ain't got no damn sense LOL
