Obsessed may not be the right word to use, it is for me though lol

I used to stay on this board 24/7 (slight exaggeration) but now not so much

I wanted to try everything the next woman did who had amazing progress, now I've found what works for me and keep it that way

I wanted to try every product in hair care land, even though I found something that worked for me I was thinking maybe "that" product is better
 
im still obsessed-it will probably blow over within the next year or so though but for now im in here everyday
 
Unfortunately I am. I've been praying often for God to help me get over these things that don't matter and to focus more on serving him, my health and the health of his people. Slowly but surely getting over this hair thing I think. I actually
Just need to be tamed while I have more important things to do in school
 
I was but now I am looking at my budget and I can't keep doing this. I have decided to take a hiatus and use all the products I currently have. I have probably spent about $500 in the last month on supplements, creams, oils and tonics.

I am done! I have enough coconut oil to last me until summer, sulfur through 2011, shampoo until 2012. The only thing I think I will need to buy is multivitamins and conditioner.
 
Heck yes I still am.... ;)

I was never the one to jump on many bandwagons trying different things or new products.. I am the type of person if it work for me I'm sticking with it....
 
Just last night my husband said "You and your hair..." so I guess my answer is 'yes':) I'm still learning so that's my excuse!
 
I'm not as much I used to. I was like you and spent literally 24/7 on this board. I was sooo happy when I found this board because I got to mingle with other hair-obssessed ladies that were/are willing to talk about hair all day long :giggle:.

Again, like you I have found what works and don't visit that often and when I do, rarely to the hair section.
 
as a matter of fact I am still hair crazy! A yr ago whn I found lhcf me and dd were almost bald (not joking) and now everythime I unbraid her hair or straighten mine and c how much difference just a yr made, I get excited abt the journey all over again. Its addictive. hopefully whn I find a reggie tht will work for the long haul for both of us, and we get closer to our goals, I'll calm down
 
I am getting past being "overly" concerned about my hair. I got a haircut this past weekend, and realized that it is just hair. I have reached well pass my initial goals, and at this point was being a little obsessed with length. I have been dying to get a professional cut, but have avoided it for years due to fears. I was afraid of losing too much hair, set backs, whatever... But I have not really been enjoying my hair because I was too worried about every and anything - I am done. I know how to take care of my hair, so what's to worry about. What's the point of being obsessed, it grows if you care for it; and doesn't if you cut or break it off...
 
Yes and no. My personal routine is very streamlined but I love doing other people's hair. I'm more than ready to take it to the next level and go to cosmetology school. I was enrolled in the summer but had to withdraw because of logistical and timing issues and unfortunately it will probably be about two years before I can get back. Meanwhile I watch a lot of stylist videos on youtube and I make wigs - styling them is an outlet so I don't have to mess with my own hair.
 
Yes, I am still hair obsessed. I think its because I'm not at the length I want yet or even near it. I think my product junkie-ism has toned down by A LOT, but I still freak out if my hair isn't up and off my shoulders or if I go a week without deep conditioning.
 
I can say I am not obsessed anymore. I rarely try new things and I don't believe in the hype.

I shampoo, DC and rollerset every Sunday and wear buns and braidouts during the week. I may use a moisturizer to set my braidout. Otherwise that's it.

I also get my hair dyed and use heat because I am not as paranoid.
 
now that i found a regimen that works for me, and actual length change, i'm not as obsessed with seeing other people's stories. Hair research is still my favorite type of relaxation lol but i also enjoy using the knowledge i know now to help the friends and family who come to me for help.
 
I'm still obsessed. I tried moving on to makeup & skincare, but grew bored quickly. I'm going to try focusing more on fitness....I have to have some sort of guilty pleasure to occupy my mind as I finish up law school. Maybe I should get a Kindle lol
 
I love hair and am always fascinated with other people's stories, what people have tried, products etc. . . Reading this board and others in spare moments is quite leisurely. Of course, I work, talk to my children (adults) take care of DH and myself, so life is still going on. I don't believe in miracle products but do like products and like to try them. I've got tons of hair and have worn my hair very short for years in the past. I'm not obsessed with length, don't care about cutting or growing it. It's just a fun pasttime and so is this board!
 
Not so much... I don't check the forum as often. I will be going into 2011 with a goal in mind and being on the board almost a year I feel well equipped to reach my goal by the end of 2011. I also have products that I need to use up that will take me well into most of the year before I can buy more (especially after BF:look:) It's time to focus on saving money for my house and for me to get back into my love of shoes :grin:
 
I think I am going through a phase right now......but I am definitely am not as obsessed as I used to be.

I find myself no longer interested in challenges, bandwagons, etc. I think my lack of progress over the years has definitely played a part though. I think of hair more of a hobby than an obsession.

I still do love this site though. Everything I need is right here. The Real Housewives of Atlanta thread is pure comedy.

I'm very much still obsessed and i doubt that obsession will be tamed anytime soon since i've embarked on a "new" journey(being natural again). I'm always curious to know what other ppl are doing, whats working for them, the challengers never grow old and the results are too AWESOME to resist so YES i'm still hair obsessed. In my own journey i've had many trials and errors and the errors pushes me to try something new or tweak it a bit till i find a fix. I'm still learning about my newly natural mass to curls and since the Inspirations are so many out there, i guess me being nosy will press me to see what great lengths i can achieve being natural and caring for the curlies while being patient.

At the moment, no. I kind of go through spurts where I am really into my hair and other times I just don't really care.

I'm in a "don't care" phase right now.
 
I'm still semi-obsessed. I fell into a consistent hair routine early in my journey so I'm surprised that in I'm still into hair as much as I am.

I think I will always be here in some capacity.

Not really.

When I first started lurking here over a year ago I was sooooooo excited. I was learning something new everyday, jotting down the names of products I wanted to try, discovering the wonderful world of protein..... Ahh. Good times!

Anyways, I went from a damaged SL/APL with a mild bald spot forming on my crown from ponytail tension (yikes) to a full, healthy BSL in just over a year. My original "hair goal" was to be WL, but now I really don't care. I LOVE my hair. I hope I don't sound vain saying that! Sometimes I'll spend a few extra minutes looking at the back of my hair in the mirror. I just never knew it could be so..... Beautiful!

So while I am still on my hair grind by keeping up everything I have learned and will never abandon, my (research) obsession has migrated towards makeup/skincare. I LOVE this board though. I have learned so much it's crazy so thank you LHCF for supplementing this once dwindling self esteem :grin: I try to share my knowledge so others can be as lucky as me while still learn something new from time to time! :cloud9:

I'm obsessed, but not frustrated obsessed. My hair is doing really well, and I'm happy with it. I do take pics of it all the time though...and I did break up with my bf partially because of my hair... :lachen:
 
I'm not overly obsessed....:nono:...at least not the way I used to be back in June. I found what works for me and i'm happy :)....I am open to tweaking my regimen to try new things every now and then..but that's only every so often. Right now i'm jst focused on my getting my body right, my graphic designing, and making money :)...I want to be a millionaire one day :look:....seriously.
 
im still a little obsessed only because i have not met my hair goals yet? i think when i do reach my first hair goal i will eventually calm down. i dont try every new fad (cause some sound ridiculous) but i am a big product junkie i like to try new things
 
Def not as obsessed when I first found this site. I was constantly thinking hair. Would never let my hair out of a low manipulation style. Spent so much money on products. I mean living pay check to pay check for hair products (I'm only a college student so don't judge :lol: ) But now I just stick to a regimen. Wash every four days. Same ole products that work and minimal spending. Besides once classes started I had to start worrying about things more important than hair. I just can't wait to get a protective style in my hair so I can just let it be for about 6 weeks.
 
No, I'm tired of hair. SO tired that I'm loc'n it. Good bye combs, brushes, rollers, flat irons, hot combs, hair dryers, single strand knots, split ends, and the urge to buy products I know damn well I don't need. #bliss
