I used to be. I mean it was sad. It got to a point where the DH and kids hated to go into a store with me cause I always headed to the health and beauty aisle. And I couldn't walk into a bss without drooling. At that time I was in search of a good everything (shampoo, leave in, deep condition, moisturizer, etc). I've since discovered what my hair loves and what it hates so I'm better. I still take forever in bss, smelling everything and reading labels but I usually wait til I run out of something to really buy.

The way that you use to be, I am that way now..It's sad but true!

I used to be. About a month ago I went through and and either gave or threw away everything that didn't work for me or I just wasn't using. It was amazing to really see how much stuff I had. I threw away a lot of stuff and gave my mom a lot of stuff, but I still a good deal of products that I couldn't bear to part with. The good thing is I know what my staples are and I am not buying anything until I run out of those. I also challenged myself to try out the products that are not staples to see whether they work for me or not, if they don't in the trash they go. If I have not tried them by the end of Oct. in the trash they go cause that means I don't need nor have the inclination to use it. I was so proud of myself the other day, there is a new store in the mall near my house where you can get all your salon products, but you can also get your BSS store products as well. I went in, had an extensive look around and bought no products. The one thing I did get was a ceramic flat iron which I plan on using today. I think it's safe to say I have finally gotten my PJ'ism under control.

Actually, I don't know if I am considered to be a product junkie. I don't change products; I make my own. I may vary the butters that I use but the product is still the same. I use the same "brand" conditioner for my washes although I may alternate the scent that I use. I have several different butters, oils and conditioners that I use for my set hair routine but only for a change of pace. Not to see if one of the products work better than the other.

i dont think making your own products would be considered PJism. that takes time and patience! kinda hard to jump on all the bandwagons when you're making your own stuff.

I keep it real with my tried and true.

I can;t even use the sample of kenra that I got, because I can't get away from my own stuff.

TOTAL PJ checkin' in. I present as proof....in the last month, I've purchased a Maxiglide iron ($70) (that I have yet to use) 2 jars of Silicon Mix conditioner , 1 bottle of Silicon shampoo :nono:, one jar of Salerm Wheat germ mask (haven't used yet). Today, I went to 3 bss and spent $15 on heat protectants.

AND....I was eyeing a hard top hairdryer at Sally's Beauty Supply for $179:sekret:

I had to buy a cart to hold all of my products after the overflow got outta control in my bathroom.

All of this and I STILL don't tend to my hair the way I should

I KNOW that I am a PJ...and before I made no excuses for it. Then I realized it got bad when I felt that I HAD to buy hair products and I had so much at home in my closet, in boxes, on my Armour, and in my drawers:lol: ...it's just getting to be too much! I am in the process of moving and I realized that I had a 40 gallon container filled with hair products and I STILL had more to pack away:lol: . What did it for me was the other I went by a BSS (my dealer) and I HAD to buy something...anything! I felt guilty not buying anything...this is when I realized that enough was enough so as of now I will slowly ween myself off the products (hope I don't relapse:lol: ) and try to narrow my product selection down to 3 product lines...we'll see how it goes!

(*tic*) PJ??? (*tic tic*) Would you condier 0ver $1000/yr EVERY year on hair products alone PJism???? (*SALLY'S HAS A SALE*) sorry...that just jumped out (BSS just opened up 3 miles from the house........# on speed dial......frequent flyer miles.....)

I DON'T WANT REHAB!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to convert one of the rooms in my house into a BEASUTY SHOP w/ HUGE cabinets!!!!!!!

(*tic...tic* huddled in the corner in the dark, rocking back and forth...giggling wildly to self):dizzy:

When I first came to LHCF, I was buying all sorts of stuff. Now that I have a routine of sorts, I don't buy like I used to. My wallet thinks that this is verry good.

I tend to stick with what works for me. I know I love CON shampoo and I dont mess around with different shampoos.

Conditioners and daily moisturizers is where I experiement but not to the extreme of having 8 different bottles under my sink. I try 1 new thing at a time so I can figure out what exactly works and what doesn't and whatever I dont like my SO uses up so I can move on to the next.

Well, ya know I'm the one who spent $170 in one day for hair products so I'd say yes to that question........

I have to admit that I am a PJ, but I am a big store returner. I truly believe in if I dont like, it's going back to the store scenario. I am a receipt queen. :king: However, I try not to change up to many times but focus on what I need to work on at the very moment. If someone happens to have a great review on a product, that I know I need help with...yeah I'll try it out.

I consider myself a PJ, but it comes and goes. Whenever I'm having issues with my hair I run to try and solve it with products. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't ... but a girl's gotta try.

ME? the :littleang . Product junkie! NO NEVER!! LOL...it's really really hard for me to stick to the products I have on my siggy. I was just getting outta control so I'm forcing myself to stick with what works best.

Is there anyone here who uses only their tried and true products regardless what everyone is raving about? someone who doesnt run out and buy that great new shampoo cause they already have one that works fine?

Or are you willing to try anything that anyone suggests?? always on the lookout for the next miracle product?

I'm new to hair growing with intent so I did go out to buy quite a few new items. I've discovered some are just a waste of time/money.
I 'm rotating products to find what works best for me, a few have been disappointing, others great for my hair. I'm finding a few poducts will be my staples. Ordered the Shamboosie book at a great discount via AMAZON seller...no more buying for now.

I am a PJ who sees no end to my product pursuit and I don't feel the least bit bad about it. It's funny, but I rarely try new products that are raved about on boards unless I already had an eye on them. I have found a few HG products and buy different varieties of them, but once I find all my HG's, I'm pretty sure I'll just stockpile them.

I'm a reformed product junkie.

I have so much crap that I don't have to buy any shampoo or conditioner for the next year at least. I do replace scurl and surge when I run out though. I satisfy my urge by browsing the product aisle when I go to the store...but I don't purchase anything because 9 times out of 10 I already have something similar at home.

I am PJ and I am not ashamed. That is how I find a lot of products that I like...and a lot that I dont like! lol Might slow down a lil but I will be a PJ.
I can't even lie like I am not. All you have to do is look at my fotki. And the truth spills out at you! lol

I think I'm too new to be a product Junkie, I have to admit everyday I read this board I want to go and buy something, however I've been good...so far

I was wondering...what really make people keep buying new products when they have some that really work for them? What is it that makes you want to keep trying something new? Is it that you think it might even be better than what you already have? Is there such a thing as too many products on your hair, how do you know which ones work the best if you keep changing and adding new ones?

I didn't vote because I did not want to say yes and I did not want to say no. I don't run out and buy everything now like when I first joined BUT I will go at once and spend like $300-$400 on products that I been wanting to buy. For instance in November I am going to go crazy buying things that I want. I want a CHI or Sedu. I already have a maxiglide. I want to try the Qhemet alma heavy cream and the whole keracare line. My shopping list have like 50 things on the list, most are products that I use all the time though.:)

As a newbie I am always looking for something that will agree with my hair. So for the time being I am a pj until I find those products that work for my hair. I have found some things that work for my hair in it's current stage. But as soon as I reach my fist goal I will find what works at that point. I do go out and buy what SOME women on the boards recommend because I have lurked here and been to their fotki sites and liked the results. So until I find my staples; I will continue to be a pj! :lachen:

I am reformed. I have finally found what works for me. I am soo happy! I have so much stuff in my closet from my discovery period. I love Aveda, Giovanni's, henna, and qhemet. These have help cure me.

i've become a PJ, but for a good reason.

i'm trying to see what products work best together. my wash last night had some great results with this combo:
elucence mb poo, elucence mb cond (with a dash of jojoba oil), karen's body beautiful hair milk, UBH dew

but i'll definately have a long list when we do the hits/misses for October
