Is there anyone here who uses only their tried and true products regardless what everyone is raving about? someone who doesnt run out and buy that great new shampoo cause they already have one that works fine?

Or are you willing to try anything that anyone suggests?? always on the lookout for the next miracle product?

I'm a PJ that went to rehab... I've been totally clean for about 32 weeks! :trampolin

I always use the same products, I may try something new sometimes (not often) ONCE MY OLD PRODUCT RUNS OUT.

I don't buy anything over $8, so I'm cheap as well

Yes, I am a product junkie..I have spent over $400 on hair products since joining LHCF at the end of July 2005. I can not go 1 week without buying something new! I just got Sta-Soft-Fro hair spray today. BTW..IMO it's better than S-Curl. I am going to Target to get more flexi-rods and I got my eye on the Fantasia Sparklettes(sp) someone just mentioned on another thread.

I can't help myself..I try try try to stay away from hair products..but they keep calling me, calling my name.

well at least you're honest!

I used to be. Now I pretty much stick to a few products and kind of rotate them. I am not beyond trying new things, just not nearly as often as I used to. I think part of the reason is that I am concerned about ingredients. But also, I've gotten to know my hair much better and have a better idea of what will and won't work for me.

Ditto!-Plus, being on the PJism challenge sorta helps me too.

I used to be too I'm a reformed PJ I cut most of them out and have some basics that work

I think I was in the beginning of my hair care journey, but now I have narrowed my staples down to a few items, so I consider myself a rehabilitated one!

Unfortunately, YES ! I am a product junkie. I am always on the search for "the most superior" haircare product. I am doing better now, because I finally found "my outstanding great performing products" that work for me.

I voted Yes, but I'm not sure if I'm a PJ or not because I normally give a product a long review and thought before buying. I hate buying things that won't benefit me in the long run. Even though sometimes you have to go through trial and error in order to find good products, nine times out of 10 I have purchased a good product and keep it. I think since joining LHCF I haved learned a great deal about products and just started eliminating somethings to replace them w/better ones ;) . I have official, as of yesterday, finalized my staples. :)

I have been lurking/member of this board and other boards since about last november and i have bought less than 10 items. I think thats pretty good considering some of the stashes i have seen with hundreds & hundreds of hair products/tools! Im usually more interested in techniques and natural things/concoctions that i can condition with. yrs ago i use to be a product/salon junkie but not anymore. Im not knocking anyone though sometimes you have to go through many products in order to find your "niche". :)

I used to think I was a PJ, but what it REALLY is is that I like to have a choice. I like to have the power to choose from a wide selection of products on wash day. :D

Yep, I'm a total product junkie--primarily because I didn't give a darn about my hair until I started transitioning, so now I've had a whole world opened to me of which I was previously unanware. I'm starting to settle down into my transitioning staples, though, so I'm not buying very much anymore.

Once I BC, the merry-go-round will begin again, because I'm moving to another type of product, generally (my beloved IC Fantasia aloe gel and my flaxseed gel will certainly make the transition with me though :) ).

DITTO!!! Most products have pretty much similar ingredients. Some more/better formulated than others! I learned this after I tried every doggone thing on the planet!
Reformed PJ!!

I was a product junky......I was the junky of all junkies. But, I'm proud to say that my twelve step programmed worked. I have my regimen down to just a few products, and I am selling and/or giving away the tons of products that I no longer need.

So keep watch on my sales, ladies!!!!!!!!

I used to be a pretty bad pj, but I just decided that I was doing too much and not getting the good results I knew I could get. So one day I just decided that I needed my hair regimine and a shorter product list on paper/ computer and it worked. Believe me I have alot of products, but they're for every occasion though still maybe excessivve to some people. But hey, I have the choice of being high maintenance or not. Also, focusing on techniques and having no more than three of each category item helps. If you're just buying everything and aren't getting results, you're a pj without a cause like I was. Once I simplified things a little my hair got healthier, still working on that, maybe my blabbering will help someone though.

I am a product junkie. I try 50% of things recommended here and I really need to stop that because I never give a product long enough to see if it works for me. I am constantly switching up my regime because I get so frustrated and I just feel like I am not getting the kind of growth I want from switching so much. I do have a few staples I can not live with out, but I have just tried so many things it doesnt make any sense. Currently, I have about 50 hair care products.

i know im a pj...i have so many products at home..under the sink...on top of the my dresser...and in a black case with two drawers...and dont talk about throwing anything away...yeah right please...i could open a store probably...and then lets not talk about at my parents home..i think also that with me getting more strict with my spending their will less buying of products...i have so much stuff that i need to use before i go out and buy anything else...but can a pj in any of the cartgorys including makeup and hair products..because those are my biggest areas that i purchase in...

I am a product junkie. I have way to much stuff, I won't even say how many products I have. I am getting better though. I have not purchased much in the past few months. I have gotten to the point where I know what ingredients work for my hair and those that don't. I have set a spending limit for myself for each month and I am sticking to it.

I don't think of being a PJ as a bad think.

We are doing research, which takes a lot of time and research. Nasa does research, it is just in a different way

If I hadn't been a PJ for a while, I would have never found the right things for my hair. . .

Biolage hydrating Poo
Silk Elements condioner: used as a deep condiotn

Aphogee 2-min light protien
Setting Lotion: 1/2 h20, 1/4 lotta body, 1/3 kera kare setting lotion
Cantu break cure stregnthing treatment as a creamy leave-in

So, don't feel bad. Your only doing nessary reaserch. :look:

I know I am a product junkie... but I have really been working hard on cutting back. I am def. beginning to learn what does/does not work for my hair. so, I hope that will help me break the habit:grin:

I was a product junkie until I realized thing weere falling off the shelf and out of bag and bins in my closet. Now I am in recovery.....Step one: Assess the pile of stuff. Step Two: Pick out what works for you. ( I am stuck here!!).

I used to be. I mean it was sad. It got to a point where the DH and kids hated to go into a store with me cause I always headed to the health and beauty aisle. And I couldn't walk into a bss without drooling. At that time I was in search of a good everything (shampoo, leave in, deep condition, moisturizer, etc). I've since discovered what my hair loves and what it hates so I'm better. I still take forever in bss, smelling everything and reading labels but I usually wait til I run out of something to really buy.

...You forgot a category..."Hell YES!" That would be me.

I am STILL on the hunt for my Holy Grail Moisturizing Conditoner. I have shampoos that work for me, and I have my leave in that I've had for a while (Although I may try others, I still use my Cantu Shea Leave In for the last 3 inches of my hair.)

My poor wallet has whiplash.

I used to have what I refer to as bouts of PJism where I'll be in a "hair product mood" and drop $100 on products, but in the last 3 or 4 months I've gotten away from that. Anything that I buy that I haven't already tried is an experiment to replace a staple if the new product does a better job.

Not as much as I used to be. I really want to try the Dominican products. I have just switched over to Mizani relaxer and I want a new bonnet dryer my little Gold n Hot is about to bite the dust.
