anyone else have this problem (taking pictures)

Maybe...i'm just the opposite. My hair mostly always comes out on camera better than it appears IRL, IMO.

It's difficult for me to take back shots but the sides and front are easy to capture.

me too- - But I experience both-..

looks great.... camera makes it look not so great

looks like a HAM...camera makes it look hot to death

I have a problem taking pictures of my curls. Whenever I see how shiny my curls pop I immediately want to take a picture of them, but when I do, the picture always come out dull looking.

I just cannot get a good picture of my styles for anything - it's frustrating, sometimes. Maybe I need to set up a lil hair studio corner, or something, and get out the crappy lighting in the bathroom.

I think lighting really matter. Most of the time mine look like crap especially without the flash. But with the flash I feel like it makes it look better than it really does.
