Hi Ladies,

I am 5 weeks post relaxer, and I have been using MT, my new growth seems to be more noticeable, but maybe I am just want myself to believe it. Anyway, I have been wearing my hair in two french braids for a week. Do you all believe that french braids will assist in length retention? I am washing and DCing tomorrow, then finishing up with a roller set. My next relaxer won't be for another 3-4 weeks, and my cousin who is a stylist has been doing my hair forever. She likes to trim every relaxer, but I told her that my ladies at LHCF say to try cutting down on the trims. What do you all think about a trim after every other relaxer? Advice/opinions always appreciated.

Low manipulation is always a good thing, so yes to the french braids :yep:.

And as far as trimming, you have to do what's best for you. If your ends are in great shape then skip it, if not let her dust. And I do mean dust, you don't need a hair cut every relaxer. HTH

I agree with Chanel.

My stylist does not beleive in trimming after each relaxer. She'll do a dusting if needed but unless you are in a ends emergency or are wanting a hair cut she leaves the scissors in her drawer. HTH
