For all the ladies that are stretching their relaxers, I am currenltly 12 weeks post relaxer and am scheduled to have braids put in this Sunday. This will bring me to 16 weeks. I don't recall ever going that long without a relaxer and I'm really scared about breakage. Has anyone ever gone this far without a relaxer and what should I do to my hair to prevent breakage at the line of demarcation? Or do you guys think that 12 weeks is long enough and I should just get a relaxer this weekend instead of getting braids? TIA!!

i think you'll be fine with 16 weeks. i'd try to stretch the time without a relaxer for as long as i could.

sure! as long as you take good care of your hair and avoid combing as much as possible! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've been going like 14-16 weeks with no trouble. It does get a little rough close to the end, but as long as you baby your hair, it really isn't the big deal that people make it out to be. Good luck!
