All of these hair typing threads are making me feel like a bloody freak with my frizz on top and coils in the back. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I am used to being a misfit but I have my rare moments and this is one of them...

Hang in there girl. Nothing about your hair is misfit. It's uniquely you. Most women have several hair types...and at the end of the day if you are like me they are all nappy. Don't get caught up too much in hair types. I used to use them just to get an idea of what might/might not work for me.

Good luck Xerxes!!! I'm also growing my hair out although I have about 6inchs (shrinkage) of afro and I used to have relaxed hair to my bra strap. I'm currently wearing a weave and will continue to do so till I get the length I want. I will take breathers every now and then, but I'm on that long road with you! I haven't seen my hair apart from the blending hair for nearly 3 months so I can't wait to take my weave out and see what's in store...

Thanx DelightfulFlame! I am just learning how to deal with my hair after all of these years of neglect and laziness.

Anything above the shoulder blade?! Good Lord! LOL

I know that opinion will change after a while. And I just checked out your twists and I have decided that I'm not sure if I have the patience to do them for myself! LOL

Aww! /images/graemlins/spinning.gif

And I can't wait to hear which product works best for you. I have yet to find something that gives my hair sheen all day long.

Tell me, now that it's winter do you find your head getting cold? I have found myself on the verge of buying a knit cap because I never realized how much heat I'm losing due to having a TWA! LOL

It's so funny that you posted this. I'm doing much better now only because i think i've adjusted to the weather. But the first night i chopped and went out...HOLY MOLEY!!! /images/graemlins/rofl.gif i thought someone had a block of ice sitting on my head /images/graemlins/laugh.gif. I do plan on getting a few wraps to wear though. I mean i want to stay warm but a girl has to look cute too. Alot of the headwraps i've seen are so pretty, i've been wanting to get one since that first night /images/graemlins/smile.gif. -- jainygirl

6 inches!! Good googlygoo! LMAO

Anyone else reading this might think we're talking about something else! /images/graemlins/lachen70.gif But that's a lot of hair! /images/graemlins/clap.gif

I can't believe you have the patience to wear weave that long, but when you're done you'll have everything you want and you don't have to worry about your hair looking bad during the growth progress.

So how much longer do you want to grow your hair out to?

I'd nearly mess my pants if I had a 6 inch 'fro already! LOL I can't wait for you to reach your goal too! /images/graemlins/drunk.gif

LOL!!!

I knew someone had to have experienced the same thing! LOL

The funny thing is that I never thought about head wraps before...as long as I don't end up looking like Ms Cleo, I'm alright with it! /images/graemlins/lachen70.gif

You are a mess!! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif No way, i think on you that a wrap would look regal and classy /images/graemlins/smile.gif. -- jainygirl

LOL

I might try it just to see how people react in my department. Either that or a skull cap or baseball cap, but then I might look real butch.... /images/graemlins/tongue.giferplexed: /images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Hey All My 4b Twas!!!!! It's been almost 4 months since our last check in so i wanted to bump this so that us girls could check in with each other. I"m not sure how many inches but my twa is doing it's thing. It's thick, and the right side where it had been thin is filling in more each day. I have progress pics in my sig and my album but I cant wait to see everyone elses progress/update pics. Good Growing everyone and keep it natural :). -- jainygirl

I have those coils, and when my hair is washed it shrinks to about 1 inch. I currently style by banding, then pinning up into a bun. LOoking at my fro you'd NEVER know that I had enough hair for that, LOL!!, Yet and still, I REFUSE to use heat, and even though my hair is about 4 1/2 to 5 inches long, I STILL fit in the TWA category. My goal is to have hair that is shoulder length (stretched ) by the end of the year. Right now, when my hair is stretched, it just touches the bottom of my neck. I am more of a 4a, but believe me, we will experience the same hair woes (as well as delights). Good luck.

 Checking in - I have 3-5 inches of hair at the moment, i'm currently in the process of twisting it, I've been stopping, starting all day!

Once it's done I'll post pics.
