4A nappy head rollerset tonight

Umm, errumah, it came out HORRENDOUS! I used ORS foam mouse to help set the curl and that was all she wrote. DRY, DRY, DRY Sorry ladies, no pics because nothing came of it. BUT!! If it's any consolation I did bantu's last nite and will report back with those if they come out any better than the rollerset.

I will be trying the rollerset again, this time using lottabody mixed with water (of course) and infusium. Give me a few days for that. I'm waiting for the bantu's to dry so it will be a few hours Sorry to dissapoint ladies, but I looked like a crackhead when i took the rollers out

hopefully you will have better results when you rollerset next time with other products that you mentioned. I bet you will have a nice look with the bantu knots!

@ the rollerset results... looking like a crackhead. I'm sure it wasn't that bad. When I was natural I rollerset with diluted lottabody and it came out decent. I had to make sure to get those roots taut on the roller. I would have nice curly hair and napptastic roots. lol. It looked like two different heads of hair on one head. Keep practicing, I'm sure you'll get it down.

Awww... sorry it didn't come out right for you. I'm sure you didn't look like a crackhead, lol!

My rollersets don't come out nice and smooth either, but I like turning a rollerset into a fro or puff.

Have you tried a perm rod set before? I kinda like the look of a perm rod set better, but my hair comes out very very tight and short in length. Oh well.

I guess us nappy heads need to just stay away from those styles. I dunno.

Bre, I used a foaming wrap lotion the first time I tried to rollerset (I think I used Motions since it was laying around the house from my relaxed days) and it did the same thing to my hair. And on top of all that it was sticky. Another time I used Aloe Vera gel and it wasn't enough hold. The last time I did it with perm rods and a little fantasia gel and the curls actually held but then I had white crap in my head from the sparkelites in the gel. I think the trick is to get the hair on the roller good and find a good product.

My bantu's came out just as bad I don't know what the problem is. Maybe my hair is just too short, uneven or something.

I really want to try a rollerset with Lacio Lacio, but I am in the Wig Challenge until December.

Has anyone used Dudley Foam Wrap? This was my favorite foam when I was relaxed. I will try it when I am able to rollerset. Also, has anyone ever done a flexi rod set? I think I would like to try this because I think with the foam, using small sections and the fact that the rods sort of elongates not a tight curl look. I would roll the length of the rod like a spiral and take out in a down direction.

If you guys know her, Whitley Gilbert aka superstar has extremely thick, gawjus napptural hair that "may" be what is typed as a "4"........although i don't know much about the typing mess. her rollerset came out ultra fantastic with a cherry on top!

she's on NP and even created an entire thread about it (with pictures in the napptural styles workshop).

Why are you trying to find a setting product? Just do it wet, add some of ur usual moisturiser and roll it up. That worked for all them twistouts I used to do. Who did that bantu knot set recently??? ooo Sepharinelle, go look at her fotki, I think she just did that wet with her usual product or maybe none . Product's are over rated man...

... hurry up and see if it works so I can try lol
