I tried a ponytail rollerset!!! (((with pics)))

Lol...that's why I went and posted a pic of my texture...I meant to put in the title that it was done on natural hair.

Yes, the hair has to be SOAKING wet. SOAKING wet :lachen: I mean, even though my hair was wet...when I parted a section I sprayed it DOWN with my water bottle and combed it with my rat-tail comb...spraying it even more to keep it soaking wet (and pulling on it a little as I combed it to elongate it before putting it on the roller).

You have to make sure the hair is soaking wet, pulled very taught before placing on the roller. You also have to roll the hair VERY taught. How the hair looks on the roller is how it'll look once it's dry...if it's not smooth on the roller when it's wet it won't be smooth when it's dry. I'm gonna put step-by-step details of what I did in my fotki....but these are the most important things. Also, it's supposed to be easier to get it straight if you set the hair in thinner sections (use more rollers as opposed to less rollers).

So...hair must be wet....hair must be straight (comb through the section thoroughly)...and rollers must be taught :yep:

Thanks! I guess I have to have faith in this head guuuuh! I will try. I guess I'm afraid of all the time and tired arms! I do need to try this. This is a much better alternative to a flat iron, just gotta' get my mind right!

u know i had to run in here and see cuz ur hair is the absolute BOMB!!! I think the results were very pretty.
How long did it take to dry? did u set it overnight?
 
It turned out so nice! I even like the last pic, it doesn't really look poofy, just like the curls dropped. Gorgeous!

I agree. I've been able to set my hair with smooth results and our hair type is very similar. You just have to make sure it's soaked and get it slicked down on that roller good.
 
This looks fantastic! You say your hair is poofy in that last photo; I say it's gorgeous. I had no idea it was that long. Your shrinkage is crazy!!
 
Ohhh i tried this before because i could not really do roller sets. I am so jealous....I wish i could do this. Yours came out great...Gwan!!

Naturalgurl,

My hair texture is similar to yours and I've been able to get my hair straight like this with a rollerset, although by a professional though.
Keep hope alive!
 
Looks great to me! I love the length and thickness. Makes me wanna try to go natural...again.
