Washed my twists yesterday. Moisturized them then put them into a single braid. I'll thread the braid this morning.

I have my hair in a puff this week, going back to mini twists this weekend. I want to challenge myself to keep them in longer than two weeks. I usually take them down while they still look good because I just enjoy wash day and that clean hair feeling. I don't do any real styling with them in. I plan to change that so that I can get more time of them.

Yesterday, I washed my hair in twists and then put those twists into bantu knots for the night. Hoping to install mini twists today since I'm overdue for a trim.

I started installing mini twists. This was my go-to style for years, but after switching to medium/large twists last year...

I'm so frustrated! I think this set will take me three days to install. :wallbash:

I'm taking solice in the fact that I will be able to trim my hair. I'm at least three months overdue.

just prepooed washed dc'd and applied my leave in and moisturizer. It was long overdue.... My scalp is in heaven.... i havent had dandruff for yrs but all of a sudden last yr or so i started getting dandruff again.... last time what made it go away was monistat but i don't know if i have the patients to do that again.....

i'm gonna let my hair airdry in 6 big plaits and then when i feel like it i'll put it in med sized twists..... i really marvel at the women that can do mini twists... their gorge but too much work for me,

1. What is your primary style (twists, braids, bunning, etc.)?
Twists, and twists up in a bun or in a braid

2. What is your style maintenance regimen?
- Shampoo and clay mask treatment either once a week or every other week at most
- Moisturize and seal every 2-3 days
- Retwist every 4-6 weeks to finger detangle and keep my hair from locking
- Redo any loose or matted twists in-between retwists especially on wash days

3. Are you natural, relaxed, transitioning?
Transitioning from texlax to natural (15 months in!). Planning to do the chop after 2-3 years.

4. What do you hope to achieve from the challenge?
I hope to retain all of my new growth and gain thickness

5. How often will you restyle your hair?
Every 4-6 weeks I do my hair by taking down each twist and retwisting it. I just keep my hair in twists because it greatly simplified my hair routine. I hate detangling my hair with a passion. I even wash my hair in twists.

I can honestly say I have seen growth with my hair since I started doing mini twists in 2019. The immediate growth was in my edges and bang area. My edges filled in nicely and my bangs are now at my nose. For several years when I first went natural, I wore phony pony and wigs, which lead to breakage and short hairs all through out the my front hair line. I still have a little breakage in my crown area due to the fact it is such a dry patch of hair and now its completely grey. Even this area is longer than ever in years. I also love how my mini twist look a little different every time I do them. I love that I can shake my hair in the morning and go, just knowing my hair looks good.

I braided my twists today and threaded them. I finally got some rubber thead so it'll be interesting to see how it differs from the weave thread. I threaded with gaps until I got with a few inches of my ends at which point I switched to no gaps.

I'm going to try to keep them in for two weeks.

1. What is your primary style (twists, braids, bunning, etc.)? I commit to a mixture of twists and buns with occasional French braids.

2. What is your style maintenance regimen? I wash weekly with Ouidad Climate Control shampoo. I apply Olaplex biweekly as my hair is both relaxed and color treated with accents. I alternate using Sally’s Ion Luxe masque.

3. Are you natural, relaxed, transitioning? Relaxed

4. What do you hope to achieve from the challenge? Length is what I plan to retain until I can cut off my underprocessed relaxed ends.

5. How often will you restyle your hair? I restyle daily

i took out my braids and did some small twists. MY HAIR FELT SO SOFT!!!!!! The only thing i did different this wash was use my shea butter mix to seal instead of qhemet. I find that my hair likes the qhemet better to remoisturize dry hair but not to moisturize wet hair.... my hair on the other hand loves mielles white peony as a leave in on wet hair but doesnt love it on dry hair....

I guess its back to shea sliding for me....
