2018 2019 Pre Poo Challenge

@IDareT'sHair thank you!

This challenge is taking my hair to another level.

@Chicoro said that because of a setback, she began trying things she wouldn't have thought of. This is so true!

While swinging my BSL hair around, prepooing seemed like a waste of product and time. No ma'am. Because of this, my hair is getting exposed to more oil/ honey/mask treatments than ever. I can't wait to get back to BSL and show proof of how my hair looks different with prepooing.

@IDareT'sHair I blamed myself at first for getting "lazy".

As time went on, I remember that I was under tremendous stress. My husband was in and out of the hospital and seemed to keep getting worse. My job wasn't any better. I wasn't working out or staying on top of my vitamins. I didn't even go to my doctor for over a year.

2018 was when I put my health back on track. If I don't take care of me, how can I take care of anyone else?

Did another jojoba oil prepoo and that magical silkiness returned as I was rinsing it out.

I'll just have to pay for that expensive stuff. My hair loves it!
@sunnieb
Sounds lovely!:love:

And you are right about it being expensive! :eek:

I've bought 4oz bottles a couple times and hated when I used them up.:drool:

If I was going to buy a large bottle of any oil, this, Argan would be it.:love2:

Switched it up a bit today after getting some tips from coworkers. I pre-pooed with a ripe banana, Vatika coconut oil, couple tsp of coconut milk and neem oil. Sat under the dryer for about 20 minutes. Planning to cowash, protein condish, leave in condish/seal. Will let you know how it turns out in the morning.

Ok quick check in. Other than the bits of banana being hard to wash out, my hair feels amazing and is super shiny. (Mentioned in my above post this week's pre-poo method).

My mom did my son's hair again this week so no pre-poo. But she did deep condition well with products I gave her. We've been protecting his hair in braid styles.

I noticed since pre-pooing our hair we both have far less shedding and knots. I'm a huge fan of the pre-poo method now.

@Wenbev
I bought some Cholestrol to blend with an Egg and some EVOO for a Treatment, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.
Do it! I’d say finish with aphogee balancing condish as it’s a lot of protein.
My ma used to do egg yolk only, molasses and cholesterol as a strong treatment too. And don’t waste the whites, use it as a facial mask. I’ve done that as well.

@Wenbev
There was a whole thread on this! Which made me buy the jar of Cholestrol.:look:

@charmtreese Are you still doing this treatment?

To be honest, ever since I started using the Mane Choice prepoo I haven't whipped up an egg for my hair. I may try to incorporate both mane choice and egg/mayo prepoo treatments this year. Maybe alternate between the two. I would almost dare to say I like the egg prepoo better than mane choice, but the convenience of an already ready to go prepoo that works well in my hair is serious competition.

Mixed up my prepoo tonight, with the recipe @ElevatedEnergy so kindly shared in the Shea butter thread. Warmed in a bain marie, I used a litte more than 1tbs of my Shea butter mix (this has a delightful lasting mousse texture since I rewhipped it with boabab oil), and Faith in Nature Hempseed & Meadowfoam for my thin, slippy conditioner. 1tbs honey, half tbs of both rice bran oil and argan oil.

I parted my hair in 6 sections and worked the mix in, beginning at my ends and working my way up. I let each section fall backwards and loosely twisted. Wrapped in cling film, and silk scarf for bed.

Had no idea! That concoction saved me when I have going thru some deep breakage last spring. I was complaining to my ma and she told me to mix that up. I did it 2x a week for several weeks straight with no adverse reaction.
@Wenbev @charmtreese
Bought 1/2 dozen eggs yesterday at the Grocery strictly with the Cholesterol Treatment in mind.

Will try the Egg, Queen Helene Cholesterol and EVOO.

It will be a nice treatment (experiment) on a cold snowy day. I must get around to actually trying it this time.:eek:..:look:
