I agree w/ the smell. It’s like smoked-earthy smell.

This is my winter/colder temps preferred oil treatment. Since I keep my hair in protective styles, I wear wool scarves & coats… I prefer not only giving myself hot oil treatments on wash day but I apply this oil 2x a week to help reduce breakage and damage my hair is exposed to.

Thx for this. Would you say the oil is more strengthening than moisturizing? I’m protein-sensitive and have experienced ‘overload’-like effects from shea butter, coconut oil, etc. Yeah…I didn’t research enough before I added to cart lol

It makes your hair stronger not harder in my opinion. Very identical to hard pressed coconut oil. You gotta scoop it out once hard, melt it between your hands, it makes for better manageability.

If you’re sensitive to coconut oil, you’ll be sensitive batana oil. I have high porosity hair.

Pre-pooed last night with babassu oil.

I used to buy it from New Directions Aromatics, but this time I decided to buy from 3Cayg. I think my original oil was deoderized. It was white and it didn't have a scent. It reminded me of coconut oil, but without a scent. This stuff is brown and smells like coffee...? With this one, when I use it, by the next morning it has completely soaked into my hair. I can't remember, but I feel like the other one was still somewhat greasy the next day.

When I apply this one to my hair, it leaves my hair feeling soft.
