16 weeks! I'm happy but my relaxed hair is so ugh.

:)

Oh and my ends are horrible looking!

Same here... 16 weeks, same issues. I just went and got a "corrective" trim on Friday (to mend my DIY disaster at trimming lol.) It made all the difference. Plus, I got my hair flat ironed for the first time in a looooooooong while. I didn't think my hair could look so smooth and shiny!

28 weeks. i love my new growth. no breakage. lots and lots of moisture does the trick and finding the expensive products. paul mitchell, redken and keracare and kenra are what helps me. plus constant co washes with suave mixed with honey and jbco jelps so much.

21 weeks and counting!!! Breaking and shedding like mad. :wallbash:

Funny enough, my hair has more elasticity because I haven't used direct heat on it since end of December 2007 (when relaxer was done).

I'm 8 months into my transition. I have simple, easy, and quick detangling with ORS Replenishing Conditioner (or ORS Pak) as long as I:

1. Saturate my new growth with conditioner before I DC.
2. Detangle in the shower under running water as I rinse the conditioner out, detangling from the bottom up.
3. Deep condition and detangle every week. When I waited 2 weeks it took me a long time to detangle and it was difficult.

15 weeks post and boy has it been tough. As many have said, detangling has been the biggest frustration and just finding out what products work with my hair. Rollersetting has helped immensely!!! I'm still on the fence though...I'm going back and forth depending on how frustrated I get with my hair. Said I was relaxing on Monday after a DISASTROUS flexirod set (DH started singing Do You Know Where You're Going To when I came out of the bathroom), washed that out and did a roller set tonight which came out bangin, and I feel like I can keep going with the transition...one week at a time I guess

:lachen:@ bolded. DH was wrong for that. Did you really look like Diana Ross?

Im probably not the first person to fail a transition, so yea this is my second time. As of 3/22 Ive been transitioning. I have 2 inches of NG, a few inches texturized, and like 3 inches of bone straight hair.

Ive only used heat twice, and I plan to chop the bone straight hair this year and all the texturized hair next year. And to make sure I do it this time, I'm mostly cowashing and airdrying to keep my texture in tact. I locked my fotkin in an effort to make myself stop straightening my hair (using excessive heat) just to do length checks every week, and I have boxed up all my products that I dont use so I don't mess up my hair with them. And I locked up my shampoo too:perplexed

16 months and counting..I might as well just cut off the rest of my relaxed ends seeing that my natural hair is longer than my relaxed ends, but I want to wait until I reach APL. I plan on a low/no heat regime until the end of the summer to reach my length goal. It's been a bumpy ride :spinning:but I don't regret my decision and look forward to being 100% natural:grin:.

currently 18 weeks post!
loving my newgrowth,
but my relaxed hair gives me trouble!

i had my hair flat-ironed a couple of weeks ago, and now my ends look terrible! wommmp. i need to trim 1"

I'm transitioning:grin:!! I'm not sure how many weeks post I am because I don't remember when I got my last relaxer. I'm thinking around Dec/Jan/Feb. (and I wondering why my hair was so overprocessed-I didn't even keep up with when I relaxed my hair). I'm still undecided if I will BC or not. I've learned alot of helpful information from LHCF while lurking. I've also implemented some of that information and it has really helped my hair. But my ends were terrible and my hair's very uneven and brittle (severely damaged) so I'm going to a stylist Wednesday to let her access things. She specializes in natural hair care- she's also natural. She comes highly recommend by natural and relaxed friends. I suspect I'll have to get a mini chop Wednesday. We'll see! I'm just glad to be on the journey to healthy hair!!

I am now 63 weeks post... roughly 1 YEAR & 3 MONTHS...
My natural hair is longer/thicker/stronger than my relaxed ends
but I'm still hanging in there until I reach my goal length MBL...
that's my status....

23 weeks post checking in. I was getting bi-weekly blowouts, but noticed quite a bit of short hairs on top, so I stopped. I recently started co-washing daily, and so far so good. I've had the urge to BC a couple of times, mainly out of frustration, but that's not an option.

As of today, I have made the decision to grow out the damn relaxer....I am 2 months post and have been doing my own relaxers for about 2 years now....

I realize that I hardly wear my hair out, hardly wear my hair straight so why am I relaxing? I have grown my relaxer out on 3 different occasions only to end uo reverting back to the relaxers but I have made up my mind today.

NATURAL HAIR... HERE I COME!

16 weeks post  ... I think I'll check in every 4 weeks unless the road gets too bumpy and I'm in dire need of help. :ohwell:

I had micros in which I let stay in for about 5 days .:lachen:. I have a partial sew in now which seems to be working well ... I wonder... Can I keep it in for 4 weeks ??? :drunk:

I'm at somewhere round about 6 months. This is where it will start to get difficult. Even getting a decent bun straight out the shower is a battle. One day at a time!

I decided to transition in Feb 08. I had stretched for 6 months and after my last relaxer, the stylist chopped off all my progress. Decided i was tired.

13/14 weeks in....

i am about 10 months in and my NG is neck length. my total length is collarbone unstretched but the last few inches that are relaxed are really getting in the way of my WNGs, which seem like they will be really pretty once they are fully curly. on top of that i am in the DC challenge and while my curls love it, my relaxed ends are NOT liking all this moisture and are breaking off. luckily this has only been happening for 2 days so i can still try to fix it.

I'm hanging in there. I'm 10 months post. I found a DC that's much better for detangling my hair than ORS Replenishing Conditioner: the Pantene Relaxed & Natural Mask. However, I've checked at 4 stores this week and I can't find it. That's ok - I have some other DCs in my stash.

I'm only 11 weeks having my up and down plan on bc next year on my b-day DEC. 1. I have a long road. You guys are my inspiration:rolleyes:
