I'm not transitioning, but I did the BC almost a year ago. I just wanted to say good luck to everyone! Don't give up!

 Transitioner here! I'm exactly 20 weeks post today and still going strong :yep: I'm happy to say that this time around (my second attempt) is sooooo easy with everything I've learned. Last time, I didn't even come close to going this long without the temptation to relax, but now, it's so easy, it's ridiculous.

Just started my 8th month post and am still excited. I'm really eager to see my hair because I've been in weaves since May. But its the only way that I wont BC too soon. But keep up the work ladies!!!

I'll be 12 weeks in on this upcoming Friday. This is my first time transitioning, and I'm actually excited about it since I've never seen my natural hair texture. I haven't thought about relaxing yet so I hope I continue to hang in there and find protective styles to make my transition easier..I want to transition for at least a year before I bc..

Dangit:wallbash:

I'm mad at all of you who don't have albums!!! (except Allandra) I already know her reasons

Ya'll need to work on that!

Shoot...Lock the albums and lock every folder inside of the albums. And only give the password to me and me alone.

I wanna SEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Dangit!
Can ya'll at least post a photo of your wet new growth in this thread>'
Is that too much to ask!!!!!

My head is gonna explode. I need my meds.

I'm about 15 weeks post. Having a bit of a rough time, because sometimes it feels like carpet under the perm. I did cut about 3 inches a few weeks back to make it a bit easier. In the meantime still trying to decide how I will be wearing my hair to return to work in a couple of weeks.

I am almost 14 months post relaxer (I guess that would be about 60 weeks give or take?). I can honestly say that it's been a breeze and I haven't had the urge to relax at all. (just wishing I had started my transition earlier)

I really haven't done any mini-chops yet except for the couple of inches I had trimmed off in January.

25 weeks checking in, just about 6 months in. ITA with the bolded, I constantly look at my relaxed ends and think "If only I didn't do that last touchup, I'd probably be done transitioning by now". :ohwell: I still have a while to go, yet still going strong with airdrying and keeping my hands off of the flat iron.:yep:

Congrats to all those who are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy knee deep in the transition game..(sorry, I just had a YOUNG JEEZY moment lol)...I'm not that far into it yet...I'm 5 wks and counting...I'm trying to make it to 10 mths to a year or until I can put my natural hair in a puff...we'll see which comes first lol...but happy hair growing to all!

Hey Everyone, this is my first post...no longer a lurker

24 weeks post....wishing I started YEARS ago....

Hi, ya'll - I'm new (16 weeks post), so it's been like almost 4 months for me. Been rockin braidouts since I'm in a no heat challenge. About 2" NG...so far so good...

Happy to join the thread:yep:...this is my second time transitioning to natural. 1st time I did the BC after about 3 months and grew out a TWA. This time, I am trying to transition without the BC. I'd like to have at least SL hair before I chop, so I can at leat make a nice puff and pull back into a pony for styling versatility while natural...:drunk:

I'm transitioning. It's been about 5 months. This is my second time. The first time. First time was about 8 years ago, and I did not BC, just got regular trims. Took about 3 years to get BSL natural hair...and then I relaxed. I've decided I want to go natural again. I may BC this time.

I'm just checkin in to say I'm almost a year relaxer free. August makes 1 year. I'm going to get a trim next month and continue with bunning, braidouts and twistouts.

Im only 11 weeks post but im in it to win it! I haven't been on here for a while but I know i need so much advice because I haven't had natural hair since I was about 10 years old. I also purchased a package on the Design Essentials website that is called "Seamless Transition". It is supposed to help those who are transitioning so when I get it in a few days, I will send updates

I'm almost 8 weeks in and wearing braidouts, when school starts back I'll get braids. Not ready for the BC as yet, I suppose I'll trim a little between braids for a while.

I have been transitioning for 1 year, 11 months! Almost 2 years!. I did not BC but instead trimmed gradually. I have about 2-3 inches of permed hair left, and it should be out soon... But so far my long transition has went very well, my hair is much healthier!:drunk:

I'm checking in...last relaxer 2/11/08. I will be officially 24 weeks shortly. The summer is easy for me because I am cowashing. I am not sure what will happen when the cold weather begins. :ohwell:

Hey, everyone ... long-term transitioner checking in here. On August 1 (this Friday), I'll officially be 17 months post. I plan to BC in September (18 months post), so I only have one more month of transitioning to go.

Have I already posted here? Oh well, if so it wasn't recently. I am 7 months post. Pics in my fotki.

Has anyone figured out a good way to straighten your hair using as little heat as possible? I'm going to use my curlformers later this week and after drying my hair, try to comb the curls out and just wrap my hair for a straight look. It's the only thing I know of that gets the roots pretty straight without heat. Even if I have to lightly go over my hair with a flat iron, that would be ok too.

I just miss the ease of wearing my hair straight.
