We made it through ANOTHER YEAR of Bootcamp!!!!!:dance7:
(or another 1,2,3 sessions of Bootcamp)

Lets see those progress pictures!! Start posting!
:needpics:

I want to see YOUR PROGRESS!!!!

My siggy pretty much reflects my progress.

I may have gotten some growth since then but I got about 3/4" trimmed at my last appt. (first trim of the year ) so I think it is probably pretty close to the same length.

Here's mine........... All my dye is finally gone. :woot:

I took down my cornrows today and took some pictures. I'm pretty pleased with my new length . This is the longest my natural hair has ever been.

The pictures on the left were taken Dec. 19, 2007, and the pictures on the right were taken Dec. 19, 2008.

As you can see, it will take more than a year for me to get from full shoulder length to full APL. I'm a bit disappointed because I really thought I would achieve that length this year. The pictures capture all the growth I gained and retained this year -- it looks to be about 4". (Dabbling with growth aids, MN and sulfur, didn't help :look:.) I didn't trim this year. In fact, I've only trimmed once since my big chop in May 2006.

I'm not sad, however, because, in addition to having my longest length ever, I now have a regimen and staple products that I like. In fact, I'm very happy about that, and I'm confident that I have the means to achieve full BSL :yep:. I just have to be patient, consistent, and disciplined. I'll be joining the 2009 Bootcamp challenge. Wish me luck!

Happy hair growing ladies, and thank you all for another wonderful year of LHCF Bootcamp .

4" in a year is great! Can you imagine what your hair will look like in just one more year? Can you imagine what the average black woman's hair would look like if she could get 4" a year? Congratulations!

Thanks, Mwedzi. You are right. I spent hours last night encouraging myself to focus on the positive side. I now realize the downside of setting a goal such as "APL by Dec. '08" because even though my hair is healthy and I got great growth and retained all of it, the disappointment of not achieving that goal almost made me not appreciate my longer hair. Focusing on the positive worked, just before I fell asleep last night I realized that in 3 years I'll add 12 more inches to my current length, wow!

One of my challenges for next year and beyond is to focus on retaining all my current and new growth instead of trying to reach a specific milestone (BSL, for example). It may sound contrary but it requires a different mindset.

GREAT PROGRESS!!! :grin::grin::grin:

I'm always confused how 50-eleven people sign up for Bootcamp and then when its time to post progress pics....it seems like everyone disappears :ohwell:

We're here! I'll be posting pics next week probably around the 30th or 31st when I have the time. I'm loving the progress that I see! Great work ladies, keep 'em coming!

The pics in my siggy are January through July 2008 on dry combed nappy hair  & here are my final pics for the year on Maxiglided hair:

If my progress appears minimal it is only because I trimmed several times in 08. I'm getting rid of my henna and have about another inch & 1/2 before i'm done.:yep: But I still plan to be APL at some point in 2009.

I kept my hair in protective styles except for the rare occasions when I feel like a fro, & will continue the same in 09. I use only water & coconut oil for the most part but as my hair grows it's needs change. So it's always fun figuring out the right combo every few months or so. I'm pleased with my progress at 20 months natural.
