Starting picture:
Before and after my December 21, 2017 blow dry, flat iron, and trim:
Current length:
I will try to get a tape measure and measure a section soon.
Regimen
A) Once a month: Chelate
B) As needed: Protein treatment
C) Every 3-7 days: Wash (or water rinse or cowash) and style
Wash and style entails these steps:
1- Prepoo, section, and predetangle hair
2- Exfoliate then cleanse scalp
3- Cleanse strands (and finger detangle strands if using a very slippery cleanser)
4- Balancing deep conditioner under heat
5- Moisturize, detangle with KareCo Tangle Buster brush, and seal: aaTCB
(AVJ ayurvedic tea, slippery cream, sealing butter . . . can add gel)
6- Treat ends, then grease or oil ends
7- Style in ways that reduce tangling (e.g., [banded] twists --> twist out . . . twist bun . . . etc.)
D) Every other night: Hydrate/moisturize the hair, oil massage edges,
oil massage the scalp
E) Every night: Protect hair by wearing a loc-sock-looking head covering from Walgreens
Prioritized products and tools: HairPrint Chelating Shampoo, Shea Moisture High Porosity Moisture-Seal Masque (prepoo), Ouchless Goody Updo barrettes, Cantu ACV Root Rinse, Soultanicals Soulvedic Strands Poo Bar, HairVeda Creamy Hair Cleansing Rinse, Green Beauty Real Protein, Shea Moisture Manuka Honey Masque, HairVeda Red Tea Conditioner, Hot Head Deep Conditioning Heat Cap, CurlyProverbz DIY Ayurvedic Hair Tea, HairVeda Red Tea Heavy Cream, KareCo Tangle Buster brush, HairVeda Red Tea Serum, Black Castor and Flaxseed Oil Eco Style Gel, Asha & Miel Edge Genesis Ultra Oil, CurlyProverbz DIY Ayurvedic Hair Growth Oil, Walgreens "lock soc," Biosilk Hard Rock Gelee (as my edge control)
What will you do to achieve your goal:
- Keep my hair stretched (that is, chunky twisted, twist bunned, worn in twist out, etc., because allowed to shrink up, my hair tangles and knots).
- Prepoo to protect against hygral fatigue and breakage.
- RESTRICT use of a detangling brush/comb to no more frequently than every two weeks.
- Wait to detangle hair until POST-DC, when the hair has obtained both increased elasticity and strength.
- Use the VERY strengthening and hydrating CurlyProverb DIY ayurvedic hair tea.
- Do a very invigorating scalp massage during cleansing), which I believe is the mechanism by which a stylist grew my hair out long and super fast and super strong.
- Do CurlyProverbz DIY scalp oil massages (note to self: trial bergamot oil in it).
- Endeavor to optimize my nutrition, exercise, and water for health and hair growth.
- Only use my super sharp professional hair scissors when searching and destroying.
Anything else you would like to share: I am trying to determine which of either a recommended cuticle-managing ACV rinse (for hipo hair) or baking soda rinse (for lowpo hair) needs to be a part of my washing and style routine, if either.
