2 Inches In 4 Months Challenge - 2016 (session 3 - Sept Through Dec)

So it looks like I didn't retain anything. I think next week I will straighten to do a true comparison, but I am afraid that I will be disappointed.

Almost done with the NJoy growth oil. I'm about to start moisturizing and oiling like crazy so that my crown area gets healthy and full again.

Tonight, I put Jakeala's Flax Mallow & HE Totally Twisted Conditioner on my braids, sat under the heat cap for 30 minutes, CW'd and rinsed it out and rinsed out 80% of V05 Island Coconut Moisturizing Conditioner.

Sat under the dryer on low for an hour and LCOB'd with L = Jakeala Pineapple Protein Spray, C = Carefree Curls Gold, O = Duafe Naturals Love Me on length, Keravada Oatmeal Milk & Honey Alter Ego on scalp & Kreyol Essence Lemon HBCO on edges, B = Zipporah Beauty Sweet Orange Shea Cocoa Moist on ends.

Update on my Chi experience...I washed my hair today for the first time. I went from bone straight to curly girl. I used Ouidad Oil Cleanser and I'm currently DC-ing with KBB DC bout to heat up my hothead and finish watching Survivor. So far, this was a great decision.

Back to my old faithful two-strand twistout...detangling was a breeze, no breakage and my ends curled up quite nicely. My curl pattern did loosen because my twists didn't shrink like they normally do. Soft and shiny, I'm a happy girl! I'm back in the 2in4 challenge. I can do this.

Yay. Glad it's working.

So this time I straightened to take my LC pic, but I don't really see a difference. I am going to put in braids without extensions for a month and see what happens.

Today was Shampoo Saturday:
  • Pre-poo'd overnight with my AVJ spritz & coconut oil.
  • Applied Mane Choice Green Tea & Carrots DC and went under my heat cap for a little over 1 hour.
  • Shampoo'd with Coco Curls, CW'd my length with Ynobe's Pumpkin Silk, reconstructed with Ion & rinsed out 80% of V05 Island Coconut Conditioner & ACV rinse.
  • LBO'd with L = Cream & Coco's 1000 Flowers, B = Alikay's Shea Yogurt on length, Liquid Gold's Green Magic on scalp & Honey's Handmade Whipped Vanilla on ends, O = Sunny Isles Lavender JBCO on edges.
I am really hoping for some growth & retention when I do my 1st quarter length check at the end of this month.

I'm improving my eating, drinking my water and working out 5 days a week. I need to improve with my vitamin intake. I've been doing a little better at getting to bed on time. It still needs some work.

I've been slacking on oiling my scalp and doing water rinses.

I will up my effort for the next 45 days.

Would love to have a spring growth spurt.

I'm improving my multi-day styling techniques. The better I get at that, the better my retention. I'm using a modified pineapple, more like an onion with fringe I had to find a way to immobilize my hair without flattening out my curls and waves.

Been oiling and massaging my scalp nightly then washing. Taking my vitamins is hit or miss lately. I have to do better.

Also been doing a modified max hydration method. And my hair is much softer and shinier. It's freaky. Wish I had taken pics but I've been viewing my hair as a chore this week just trying to get through it.

Hope I'm retaining something.

I can't picture that. Can you take a pic?

It's not a good look but I'm on 3rd day hair headed for the weekend for washday with zero retwisting. My DD laughed because she couldn't picture it either. The first pic is the "onion" with the fringe and the second is what happens when I take it down and shake it out.

OK I see why you call it an onion. It's amazing that after shaking it out it just looks perfect like you never put it up. Nice.

Slacked a little in protein shakes this past month, but kept up with my Manetabolism vitamins. On my 4th bottle now. I took a break from sulfur too. I will go back to applying my peppermint pomade from the Pomade Shop this week.

Kerastase is so much cheaper in the UK. I just ordered a jar of Chroma Riche for 22 Euros (about $25). The Kerastase USA site is selling the same jar for $60. I guess I'll stop buying locally.

Today is supposed to be wash day. We'll see
