Hey ladies, I'm creating a 30 day challenge to obtain one inch of growth. I'm frustratingly close to APL :wallbash: and will be ending a 16-week stretch in exactly one month. I want to squeeze out as much growth as possible between now and then, WHO'S WITH ME?

I even created a chart to document my regimen so that if I am successful, I will know EXACTLY what got me there.

Daily Goals:
-100 oz water
-100 grams protein
-2000-3000mg fish oil
-Egg Shake (one daily): 1 scoop protein powder, 1 egg, 1 tsp flaxseed oil
-2000-3000mg Biotin daily
-Super B Complex (one daily)
-MegaTek (applied to scalp and massaged once daily)
-Exercise daily (strive for 30-60 minutes)
-continue with my no-heat reggie (just buns and twistouts)
-cowash once or twice weekly, shampoo/DC once weekly, moisturize daily when twisting or bunning.

I'll edit this post and add my starting pic of wet hair after co-washing tonight. I'm PUMPED! I think I could really do this if I stay consistent!

So Come on ladies! Who wants to be 1" longer in 30 days?

Flat-ironed: (if you can see my mole (under left shoulder), it is exactly at the APL point (how convenient!) My goal is to have my hair fully past this mole by the end of the year.

lol I know right! I'm also trying to lose weight. A lot of the things in my daily list help with both weight loss and hair care, so its a win-win!
 
Wow those are some serious daily goals!! I'm subscribing to this thread so I can see your progress. I started back on protein shakes today, I just added 1 20g shake, my goal is to drink 2 or 3 per day.
 
I'd like to join :yep:. What are you doing to get 100g or protein per day? I plan on protein shakes, nuts, yogurt, cottage cheese and chicken breasts :ohwell:. I know you can do it, your regimine looks great.
 
Good luck to you! I would love to see your progress after a month. make sure you document. I'm not good at taking a lot of stuff daily so I know that I wouldn't be up for this challenge.

Thanks for the encouragement! To fill my protein quota, I've been replacing snacks with 100-calorie protein shakes (Muscle Milk Light) usually 2 a day. I also am focusing on having lean meat or fish with both lunch and dinner. I'm also on a weight loss mission so I think the extra protein and water will really help me slim down.:yep:
 
Wow good luck! I started a challenge for growth as well. Mine last until the end of the year. You should check it out. An inch could be obtainable if you stick to your plan. The protein is probably what is going to do it for you. Cant wait to see your results:yep:

Is this premixed (liquid) or do u have to mix urself?
how many grams of protein does it have per serving?
what flavor and how does it taste?

They are delicious! I have Vanilla Cream. It dissolves completely (even without a blender) and doesn't require any extra sweetener. It can be pricey at GNC so I would suggest ordering it online.

I use Vanilla Creme but they have other really tasty sounding flavors like Chocolate Peanut Butter, Creme Brulee and Cookies N Cream.

The serving size is 2 scoops for 195 calories and 25 grams of protein. But to keep my calories down I only use 1 scoop with water and spread them out over the course of the day.

They also sell Muscle Milk Light in premixed liquid bottles, but it averages about $7.99 for 4 of them, so I think buying a tub is more economical.

I'm in.

Here's what I'll be doing:
  1. At least 2L of water each day.
  2. 50 grams of protein each day; I'm a vegetarian so I will get it from cottage cheese, protein bars and the ocassional nuts. I haven't been tracking my protein but I notice growth when I eat more so this will be a great way to make me accountable.
  3. Garlic tablets (I am trying to combat shedding.) and the Alter Ego deep conditioner once a week to my scalp only after washes.
  4. Braids for the remainder of the challenge; this Sunday will make four weeks and I am going to get the edges retouched at 8 weeks and take them out at twelve. So this will be a perfect time to really see the growth.
  5. Cardio six days a week for at least and hour each day; I already do this. I will be adding weight training.
I will update this post with my starting pics later.
 
I'm following this regiment. This would be a perfect internal regi to help me grow thicker hair. I already have the biotin and the megatek. all I need now is the protein.
 
I'm in!!!! I know I can't do that much exercise cause I'm lazy, but I'm going to up the water, protein, and include the vitamins. I will post my reggie this evening and a length picture on Sunday when i do my hair.

You have to add cardio to your fitness reggie too, unless you want to bulk up like the Hulk instead.

If you have Biotin I would suggest adding a B Complex or Super B Complex when u take it. When I was taking Biotin by itself it made me break out :nono:

With a B complex added, it balances out the Biotin and my skin has stayed clear. Also drink tons of water. Just a little tip from me to you!

LOL I know thats right! MY exercise reggie is 80% cardio (mostly running on the treadmill) with some toning videos (Slim in 6) thrown in.
 
Good luck to all joining. Be sure to post progress. This is a bit much for me to try, but maybe you'll have a believer in me if the results look good.
 
I'm in too. I want an inch to add to the other 3 I'm trying to gain by the end of the year. I've been wearing braids for the past two and half weeks and I've already seen a lot of growth (about a 1/2 inch).

*I drink 6 - 8 8oz. glasses of water or 1 - 2 1L of bottled FIJI water a day (it has silica in it).
*Drink Naked Juice Green Machine with 1 tbsp of Barley Green
*I take what I call my vitamin cocktail (biotin, B Complex, B6, E, hair, nails, and skin vits, silica)
*Workout 3-5 times a week (even though I slacked a little the past two weeks)
*I eat eggs, chicken, fish, nuts, and protein bars.

I'm going to start using megatek as soon as it comes in the mail. :grin:

I wish I could join, but I know for myself this is pretty unrealistic... I am such a slow grower...

Oooh, this looks interesting. I already do a lot of this, I would just have to do it more consistently and up my protein. Plus documenting along with photos would be a good thing. Would I have to do your recipe or can the egglette cocktail replace it? I hate protein powders. :barf:, but I have no problem doing 2 raw eggs in one shake.

Actually the egglette cocktail would probably be even more effective than my recipe. I just can't stomach wheat germ/wheat germ oil so i just made up something I knew I would like. :lick: I figure the egg is the most essential ingredient, so I think I'm good. :)
