I guess I'm having a hard time believing manufacturers and vendors would pass up the chance to make some more money.

I guess why I don't understand is because I'm not sure how the Koreans would even know. Here in L.A. if I had a BSS I would just go to Maly's or Cosmoprof to purchase my high-end salon brands (Redken, Mizani, etc.). If I wanted drug-store or BSS brands I know where to go or who to call to purchase those too. I also go to the beauty industry tradeshows here and make contacts. Not one of these stores or suppliers would refuse to sell to me. So I just don't get it when I hear these types of stories.

I actually went and saw it today. I was off work, the kids were in school, hubby at work, so I was like "what the heck?" In my opinion - it wasn't worth my time. And a few scenes actually ticked me off.

Of course, I live in the land of long, flowing, beautiful hair, and I wasn't sure how I felt as people of other races sat and laughed at my people. (I was the only black person in there). It didn't feel right.

The only part I liked was the end, when Nia Long said "yes, being with a Black women is an investment - but you get soooo much more in return...."

Girl, I used to live in Costa Mesa, and once sent an editorial letter to the Orange County Register (wasn't published as far as I know) questioning why, when there were at least 2 large movie theaters within 2 miles of my place, I had to drive all the way to Irvine (you live in SD, so you know how bad the freeways are in SoCal, and I avoided them whenever possible) to see Brown Sugar or Run Tell 'Dat. I can't believe that Irvine has it before San Diego, though! WTFudge?!?
