My 13yr old Men
Since I have done my 54 week stretch I have noticed that alot of people think I am fully natural. When I tell people that I am not and I will be relaxing soon they try to talk me out of it. They treat me as if they are loosing a sister. I am sorry naturals but I am bonelaxed. I respect you guys but it aint me.

The natural community will be devastated now that we know you won't be joining us. :cry4:

On a serious note... do what you have to do to make yourself happy! It's your hair/body. :yep:

Congrats on your stretch then lady. Do you! Your natural hair is inherently a part of you, so when you say it aint you...it really is you, but you make the choice to style your hair by relaxing it. Just felt like saying that, but if you like it, I love it!

As just about everyone has said, do what makes you happy!

I know that sometimes we naturals can be a lil intense (especially when we first go natural....and especially when we're enjoying it. I was certainly guilty of this for a while.)

Even though you really shouldn't have to, sometimes it helps when you express your choice of being relaxed, and explain the stretch and everything (which personally i think is amazing, i couldnt even transition for more than like... 4 months.)

Next time some one says that you, ask them why aren't they naked?
We weren't born with clothes, aren't they being un-natural?????

Good for you. Post pics when you prem your hair. Question, did you tell the ladies what you told us?

I know this sounds funny but really they were intense with all their reasons as to why I shouldnt relax again so I just had to let it be known my intentions.

Maybe I wasnt clear when I said it aint me. What I should have said is that natural isnt for me.

Southern stunner...On the low I've been kinda stalking your fotki because I knew your 1 year stretch was coming to an end..
HURRY UP AND RELAX!!!
;)

I'm still not getting how your own hair that grows out of your head isn't for you. But I think it's just a semantics issue.

Anyway, ummm...I'm glad you let them know how you feel. And good luck with your relaxer.

I **think** she's just saying that her hair/style goals don't include being natural. Heck, mine didnt either before I found online hair communities. I still dream about long relaxed hair, I just don't think my hair can handle it.

I am very excited to see the results of your 12 month + stretch. Will you be doing it again?

On another note I wonder if this is common with other long term stretchers. People trying to talk them into going natural when they have made it clear that natural is not their goal.

Have you ever felt any pressure from anyone here on the forums?...Just wondering

No. Never. But then again I dont post pics often so I dont really think anyone pays attention. My hair length at the being of my stretch was ear length so I must say I am a good 80% natural.

Ok so I guess I am still unclear. Should I say that the time, energy and preference is not what I choose. I have learned in the past year that being a mom of twins, working full time, going to school full time and being a wife takes up a lot of my time and energy. I just prefer to wear my hair straight thats all. I didnt mean to offend anyone but this conversation alone proves what I orginally said. I feel like in this thread I am trying to be convinced otherwise.

Thank you that is exactly what I meant. I will not do another 12 month but I will do 6 month stretches from now on.

I cannot wait to see your results!!! I am so excited for you. :woot::woot:

What length are you shooting for? High expectation level? Bare minimum expectation? And will you be disappointed if your goals were not obtained?

In a perfect world I will relax and be APL but that aint gonna happen. I am hoping for collar bone. I wont be disappointed if I dont reach my goal as long as I dont loose hair everything else is a plus.
