1. The regular kitchen stove?
2. The ceramic heater stove?

I use the kitchen stove, but I'd like to switch the ceramic heater stove. Tried it before, but I wasn't accustomed to the heat. Is either any better for the hair?

Thanks ladies.

I dont press my hair, but i do enjoy watching videos on youtube when they do. And most use the heated lil oven thingy-ma-jig. I was just watching a video of pinkskates (i think thats her name) and she also uses a pressing comb for her hair. She has this temp scale thing she puts the pressing comb over. I never seen one like that before but it was cool. It told her when the pressing comb was too hot to put it on her hair, when she took it out of her lil oven.

If i was to press my hair i would use the lil oven. I have seen a person take a pressing comb off of a fire stove red hot and put it into their hair. dangerous!

I use the reg stove

but use the lil oven thingy for traveling (and the vids I did as there was no other way to do the vids)

the reg stove works better for me, its more what I'm used to

Thanks for that tip. Time for me to switch to the electric stove. Hopefully PinkSkates will come in and post.

Hey i remember you. you did a video using a pressing comb on damp hair. Do you still use that method?

Thanks, Iris.
I'm used to the regular stove too. I tried the ceramic oven before, but the heat felt different. Not saying it's bad, just different. I'd like to pick up an inexpensive stove somewhere.

I use this one:

that looks interesting

I have one of the ones thats old school like in the salon that they threw the marcel irons in

You can throw a marcel iron in it as well...I put my flat iron in it. I use to use the regular stove but I have found that this one works out better for my hair. It is a different kind of heat from the regular stove and I personally think it's healthier for my hair.

I have the ceramic heater.... the old school one that I put my pressing combs in. My marcel curling irons just arrived today... I can't wait to get home and open my package!

Looks like more people use the regular ole' stove. Hmmmm....
I like the oven with the temperature gauge. Hard to gauge the heat on the regular stove.

This is so very cute! I use the old school thing that looks like a minature oven that they use in the beauty shops. I prefer pressing my hair using the gas stove. I have an electric stove now and ahm...let's just say it doesn't work well with the pressing comb.

Flat irons don't get my hair straight. It may be that I just lack technique. Most times, I go to the beauty shop to get my hair trimmed then, pressed with a hot comb.

Yes I think it's important to use an oven with a gauge on it (especially if pressing your own hair) so at least you're in control of the heat. The pressing combs used on a normal kitchen stove can be so hot it can burn the hair if not cooled down sufficiently!
