I was wondering if all the relaxed ladies stretch??
And How long each time?

I stretched 11 weeks the last time, it was sooo hard for me.

Tell me what you think:look:

Last year, I got 3 relaxers every 17 weeks. This year I've only had one, and that was back in January. I'm stretching long term trying to make it to the 1 year mark. My roots are really thick, its a jungle up in there, and my hair has grown 3-1/2 inches! I wanted to give my hair a break from the chemicals..hope I can make it till the end of this year.:drunk:

9 weeks and 6 days... That was my first stretch ever. I will probably continue to relax around 10 weeks for now on. Maybe I'll attempt longer stretches in the summer when school is out.

I'm 15 weeks (3.5 months) into my first stretch. Mini goal: 4 months, Target: 6 months. If all goes well I'll try to stretch to December and get a good trim to start the new year off.

I usually stretch 10-14 weeks. It really depends.

My last stretch was 22 weeks. I tried to make it 24 but :look:

I stretch for 24 months.

It's really not that hard for me.
Just don't think about it so much.
And don't worry about making your new growth blend in...

Good luck stretching =]

My last stretch was 7 months, I am trying to go for nine or ten. Right now, I am at 20 weeks- five months. I simply love the results I get from stretching.

I'm almost at 11 weeks,
so far i've been getting lots of breakage, from my last 2 stretches past 8 weeks and not gaining length but I'm struggling to make this stretch thing work for me I'm kind of reluctant to give up on it :look:
apparently it gets easier each time :look:

I usually relax ever 16 weeks but my last stretch was for 21 weeks. This time around I am shooting for six months.:lick:

What helps me is I wear ponytails and twist up until week 10 or so. Because my hair still look like a fresh relaxer after that. I get a sew in and wear that for like two months or so....and before I knew it I have stretched for over four months no problem.

I still find the time to DC ever week regardless of the hair style I have.:yep:

I love to stretch I think it really helps to keep hair thick and prevent from overproceeesing hair.

I can live with relaxing every 10-12 weeks. Unfortunately, for me I spent the summer where no relaxer was available, so the devil is trying to make me stretch my relaxer to nearly four months.

Normally 7-8 weeks is the longest I've stretched. However, I'm going for 9, maybe 10 weeks. I have to baby-step the longer stretches. Otherwise, I'd go mad.

I stretch for 12 weeks (4 months). My next relaxer is due Sept 11. I think I want to wait a bit longer. I thought of transitioning to natural, but I can't take it. My roots are horrible.

I usually do 12 weeks, but this time I've been motivated by ladies here to do 24. Right now, I'm 16 weeks into the 24 week stretch.

My last stretch was 12 weeks. I will try for 16 weeks this time. I did like the results from stretching. My breakage stopped and my hair feels strong and healthy.

My last 2 relaxer stretches were for 19 weeks.

I am transitioning now and I am almost 34 weeks post, this is the longest I've ever been without a relaxer and it's so much easier now :-)

Curly styles (braidouts, twistouts and curly rollersets),cowashing, DC'ing (light protein for me) are things that helped, and still do. :-)

I am a few days away from week 12 and I'm doing okay. My roots are pretty thick, I think I can go for another week or two.

My first stretch was 12 weeks. A breeze. My second stretch was 16 weeks. I relaxed last week. It has done WONDERS for my edges. My hair is fine and i can see a big difference in my hair since i started stretching. I had a bit of a problem detangling this time. I would like to stretch 24 weeks, but i don't know about that. I'll see how it goes. Things were good until i got to 14 weeks and then detangling my roots became a problem.

I usually only go 8 weeks but currently I'm about 2 days shy of 10 weeks. I don't know how long I will go but right now, it's not that hard. Besides, I have HIH disease. I love playing in my newgrowth and I know I will miss it when it's gone!

I'm currently five months post exactly; I plan to relax this Friday. I'll never go back to relaxing every 8 weeks, the benefits far outweight the negatives. My hair has come on leaps and bounds, particularly within the last few weeks.

I plan to eventually only relax twice a year.

I started last year stretching 10-12wks which was easy because I wore lace wigs. My longest was 17wks while wearing sew ins. When I was wearing my real hair for the last 2mths I got texlaxed every 7-8wks. So now I am trying to go back to 12wks because I am wearing half wigs but its so hard with my hair being left out.
