What do you anticipate will be your biggest challenges while participating in the bootcamp? The rules are here.

For me, I think it will be the protective styling limitation. (But that gives me more incentive to come up with inventive ways to style my hair.)

What about you?

I think it will be no direct heat.
I am in love with my flat iron, and that's what messed my hair up and brought me to this board in the first place
hopefully, i will be disciplined enough in this bootcamp.

For me it will be overall consistency. But i will really try my best. I can be so lazy sometimes.

For me, no direct heat, it'll only really impact me around Session Two, with trying to be cute at the end of school, Prom, etc. But alot of the other times will be filled with lush braidouts so I won't mind.

I think that I can do them all, but when its time to relax and wear my hair OUT it will be a problem.

That's mine. It's the night time that gets me. Sometimes my scarf or bonnet makes my head hurt so I skip it. :(

Trying to keep myself from doing that is going to be hard.

I think just being consistent is going a be a challegne for me. Idon't mind the protective styles.

The hardest part for me will be staying away from the flat iron, I put them up in Sept 08 when I found this Forum, doign ok so far. I also am attempting to get a handle on prodcuts to use, I have the protein, now I need moisture!

It will be no heat for me. After shampoo/conditioner, I normally blow dry and flat iron. I am not sure how I will do without those two, but I am gonna try and see how it goes.

Here are the RULES::ban:
1. No Direct Heat (Hooded Dryer is acceptable)
2. No Trimming (Dusting is allowed)
3. Deep Condition w/Every Shampoo Wash
4. Wear Only Protective (Buns, Braids, Twists, Weaves, etc.) or
Low Manipulation (Braidouts, Rollersets, etc.) Styles

I probably should join this since I'm already doing everything on the list! I had already decided to give the flat iron a rest and only do braidouts and rollersets for next year.

The hardest thing for me would have to be not flat ironning it. I tried to not put heat to my hair until my brithday, Feb 4th, and I totally failed.

Another thing would have to be protective styles. I would rarely do buns so that would leave me to roller setting. I have not had much success with roller setting because of the curly, non straight roots.

We will see.

I'm thinking being consistent with protective and low manipulation styling. I'm doing four sessions and I know when it gets warm I'm going to want to just cowash everyday, but with Bootcamp I can't.

No direct heat and protective styling... sometimes it gets boring and I have to try stuff to spice the styles up.

Because I'm a simplist when it comes to my hair, my problem would be finding styles other than a bun, or the occassional braid/twist out.

This will be my hardest rule to follow as well. When I'm not bunning, this is what I do. I used to be good at rolling my hair, then I wore it short for a few years and now I suck at it. I'm like a beginner. :ohwell: My hair is gonna be looking jacked up during session one.

After washing my hair last night, I doubt my roots will be straight after I take the rollers out...anyone have suggestions that are within Bootcamp rules?

Mine will be direct heat. I love the way my hair feels when its flat ironed straight after a wash and blow-out.

As well as protective styling.....i'm addicted to my ponytail!! But is a ponytail considered a protective style?

Mine would be staying in those protective styles. I just recently chopped off at least 4 inches of my hair and now I don't know what to do with the curls. So I'm going to be wearing curly weaves or braids. I'm going to have to force myself.

No direct heat :( My hair is too short to do much else with. i don't like braids(breakage) and weave give me a headache. I have yet to find a decent wig. Too short for fake buns and ponies.... So any suggestions ladies??? They would be much appreciated.... i really want to stop flat ironing.

Nothing really. I mostly wear puffs and twist outs anyway. I'm so over flat-ironing after realizing that it caused me to have a set back in growth. If anything, I will have a problem with being content with my progress and not getting frustrated.

I'm doing all 4 sessions and cowashing almost everyday except during Session 2. Why can't you cowash?
