Whisper "bleep boop" to yourself when you're sad.
I've noticed that whenever I'm having a horrible day, stressed, tired, ready to pull out my hair..... All I need to do is get in the shower and let that water hit my scalp, and all of my troubles melt away. Sitting under the dryer with my hair slathered in conditioner is so relaxing for me. I love it :love3: I guess it's my little time to escape and have some "me" time :)

*le sigh* ahhhh yes. I'm about to jump in the shower soon and wash out this DC (matrix biolage balm :lick:) that I have had in my hair since yesterday.

Yes. At least for the first couple of hours. :lachen: By the time I'm almost done with my hair, though, I'm ready to be done with my hair.

I do so still love playing in it, though. :infatuated:

I like doing it...but usually if I'm having a bad day I dont feel like touching my hair. But I do find making hair products theraputic. It hard work but it feels good coming up with ideas and making hair products that work for me.

ITA!!!!

Doing any deep treatment whether it be conditioner, henna, amla, volcanic ash, whatever! Works like a charm to relax me every time!!!:grin:

It's not something I'd say I look forward to doing but once I start messing with it, it's like I can't stop.

It is for me. Especially (okay forgive me for getting sappy for a minute I'm doped up on cold meds) because I am just now figuring out that I can a.) do this. Sounds weird but I used to cut my hair because I just could not figure out how to do it or what to do with it beyond a couple of things.

Also, my big fluffy hair just makes me feel pretty and special.

i used to...not anymore. Too many shed hairs make me more stressed. And it just goes down hill from there. Once i reach 15 weeks post...im ready to check myself in the nut house...lol

^^^SJ, those dryers make me :giggle: every time I see them! It looks comfy! Can you sleep in it? It looks so soft :drunk:

See it's all good and great when Im washing and conditioning but once Im out the shower, it fails to be a pleasant experience.

I wore my hair straight for 4 days straight so today (Friday) I came home and jumped in the shower. I was excited to try my new DC masque from shescentit and new shea butter. I took so long my kids were banging on the door LOL I always get so happy when I wet my hair and see my curls take shape.

I even put some shea butter on the grandbaby and I am going to order some for my daughter. I love doing my daughter's hair too (she's 19). It makes me feel like she still needs me.

It used to be. I really haven't enjoyed doing my hair in a while though.

Once it's done, I love it. But the whole process :nono: The Dominican salon is about to become my favorite place.

I hate sitting under the dryer and I hate styling my hair because it takes too long. However, I love washing my hair in the shower, and love how my hair looks after the whole process is done.

I find that whenever I do my hair I get very relaxed and happy. It's so much fun to see the end result!!

Definitely. Whenever I'm stressed out or my day has been bad, doing my hair always makes me feel better. For some reason, I can think things through better when I'm doing my hair. It's like it calms me down and allows me to think rationally about things.

This is me too :lachen:It's also why I've become so lazy w/my practices. I used to take 5-6 hrs easy and just make love to my hair. Now, :ohwell:. Most days I'm in such a hurry...I do still enjoy the actual washing and conditioning but all that other stuff-:nono:. I'd rather pay someone to come in and do it for me.

Omg, my SO brought this up yesterday? He was like, "Is washing your hair soothing or something b/c whenever you're having a bad day, when I come over your hair is wet."

Now having someone else do it, like my stylist THAT'S therapeutic. But i don't feel that it's a chore or it's therapeutic. It's just part of my routine.

Em, ok, :look:... looks like I'm in the minority. For me, its a chore!

You are not alone :look:--for me it's mainly a chore. A chore that gives me the results I want (like :doingdishes: , or :laundry: , whatever), but I really don't enjoy it all that much. It's just one more part of necessary grooming.
