Anyone else itching for a twa?

I know this might sound crazy but I am. I want to hit my goal of wl and then chop it all. I just really want to rock a twa right now. The only thing that is stopping me is I gave my dh my word that I wouldn't cut it again after my last one. But the other night he told me to do what made me happy so I don't know. I've already gotten threatened by several members *cough* Ms.Honey and frizzy *cough* not to do it but I don't know. So am I alone? Will this pass? Maybe I am having a 30 year old life crisis. Q

@ e-thugs. I don't know but I can just "feel" my hair so a wig wouldn't get rid of the feeling. I know that doesn't make sense.

Actually, I can't think of the member. She doesn't post much anymore, but she had grown her hair to MBL (I think) then did another BC because she wanted a change. Her hair is probably back to MBL now.

I say, have fun with your hair no matter long or short. Like my father told me a looong time ago, your hair will grow - so have healthy fun with it!

My hair is not nearly as long as yours but I understand that urge. Secretly - I really want to try the TWA. I want to know if I can pull it off. But I'm too chicken b/c if I can't then I'm stuck until it grows out...I also know that if I wait too long, and then my natural hair is too big for a TWA I won't have to courage to go backwards and cut it. So I have a small window of opportunity here....


Whatever you decide it will be wonderful, I'm sure. And there are pros/cons to each.

I braided and was back to sl in less than a year.I texturized...it was blah...i relaxed over it...i had to cut again a year later

I really don't think I appreciated my hair when it was short. I was so frustrated that I put it in braids. Now I wish I would have enjoyed it more and played with it. I looked at my dl pic and you are right, my features really stood out then too. Glad someone else understands. Q

If you do cut it, I would say for you to donate it to the locks of love foundation so that they can make a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to an illness. You have very beautiful hair and if you are tired of it, then cut it. Hair is jsut dead follices and grows back. I can recall when my hair was a bit past my shoulders in the morning and when I came back from the hair shop, I had a short Halle Berry cut. Girl and you could not tell me nothing at all. I thought I was some hot stuff okay . So now I am finally letting my hair grow back after about 10 or so years. When I was a child my hair was down to my butt so I have not ever had a probem with growing hair. If you cut it, it will grow back. Keep us posted.

If you really want to do it, I say go for it, it is just hair and it will definitely grow back. Twa's are so nice and easy, aren't they? You can also always do it in several cuts just in case you decide not to go so short.​

I did it before and people don't want me to do it again. My hair is SL, relaxed, but I have an inch (shrunken) of natural hair. I'm ready to get rid of the relaxed hair, yet I'm tired of being bald headed too. lol So I'm just as torn, but I'd like to be free too.

Plus, the beauty with natural hair, you could wear it as a TWA if you just wash it and let it shrink up on its own. However, it would be a pain to detangle if you want to change your shrunken TWA to a stretched out style.

Que I experienced the 30 year bug cuz that's when I chopped off my beyond BSL locks. I sooooooo enjoyed it for a little over a year. I got a different cut every few weeks, I got blonde highlights, I was really having fun with my short hair.

I'm 2 years into my growing out process now. I like what your husband said - do what makes you happy....BUT....take time to think of the repercussions and how you'll feel if you want your length back and have to wait another 2 - 4 years to get there again. I also planned styles for my short hair in advance to make the transition a little smoother.

I am feeling you Que. This morning (even though I am in the hide you hair challenge and I dont wear extensions so I dont know how I am gonna hide my hair now!) I went crazy and cut my hair into a TWA and I so regret it now though!!!! I had cut my hair off in March from just pass shoulder length to a twa. With using OCT/MT it grew enough that for the the last 2 months I have been able to put it up in one. However I had relaxed ends still on and I had enough of it and did an unplanned cut this morning in a fit of madness. Well when DH came home he started laughing at me and said I look like a mad woman. I am not happy. I am sure if you cut yours in a TWA it would look good though, but if I had your hair I would not be tempted to cut off all that gorgeousness!!

Helz to the nawl! Don't you cut that thick mane off dangit! I regret cutting that bad dye job dead hair down to the scalp in May! Why do you think I'm wearing wigs ladylumps? I pucked up big time this time! The barbershop is just as annoying as the beauty shop.
