Hello all.
I am a near constant lurker and hate to even trouble anyone with this question since I know most questions have already been answered MULTIPLE TIMES in MULTIPLE THREADS...
...but after searching just about all day, I cannot figure out if just doing braidouts would help me to achieve the growth that some women have gotten - APL, BSL, and MBL.
I did my first braidout last week and left it for the entire week, slowly transitioning to a band loosely wrapped around my entire head for a cute, curly puff in the back. Mind you, by Friday, I looked positively electrified and quite close to natural, though I am very much relaxed.
But I pre-pooed, clarifying shampooed, deep conditioned for an hour, and used Cantu Shea butter as a leave in and then finally braided last night. I put a little humectress on my ends this afternoon. The braids are still in and I will take out for church tomorrow. It looks like a good set.
This is the kind of routine I could easily keep up with for an entire year.
Seriously.
I know this is too much information, but for all who know how to take care of hair and have had good experience growing, I wanted to give the info to see if my regimen is a good one to start with. I would love to know if doing braidouts for a year would be good for my growth. As it lengthens, I can put it up a bit so it doesn't rub against clothing, shoulders, etc.
I am SL, 4a.
I would appreciate any feedback available.
God bless!
