Has MT Failed You And NOT Increased Your Growth Rate To Biblical Proportions?

So, in two weeks you want to see growth at biblical proportions?

Ok......this thread is funny to me:lachen::lachen::lachen:

Carry on....

I wouldn't have posted this thread if I didn't.

Can't say I'm pleased to make you laugh under these circumstances.

Having seen PICTURES of multiple people who got such results I assumed THAT to be the selling point of MT. I don't bother with growth aids otherwise.

I don't use Mega Tek and/or OT but how many times per week are you applying it? Are you applying it directly to your scalp?

7 days a week massaging it in and sleeping with a shower cap as noted in my original post.

yes we exist...but there are a lot of people in the thread who began shedding tears when they didnt get where i got in two weeks (well this was from before i started but you get the idea) then BOOM.

citing another post that i failed to quote, good question though...miss lamb, i realize it is working for you as a leave-in but are you ALSO applying it to your scalp? i aim for every other day although i wanna be doing it every day; i'm just too lazy.

Answered above. Thank you for asking though.:yep:

Anyhow OP, give it some time. I honestly don't think you really can see progress in 2 weeks but I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule.[/quote]

Having read 100+ pages of near miracle like results WITH pics it seemed the insta-growth was MTs selling point. Obviously I am not in that minority.

The original challenge was for 90 days, because it might take that long to get growth. I think that the fact that several ladies are seeing fabulous growth so swiftly is causing a lot of people to forget the fact.

Are you using it as a leave-in on your scalp, as others asked? If, not, and if you aren't using it daily, no, you won't get the exceptional growth that others are getting.

don't think it's exceptional that she's expecting exceptional growth, I think it's - interesting that she's willing to give up in two weeks. *shrug* That's the main downfall of most growth aids, though.... it sometimes takes time and patience.:yep:

Appreciated. In this case it'll take time. Which is fine, except I get a little over .5" without growth aids. This may not be worth my while. I'll have to see.

Are you applying this to your scalp like a good little lamb?

Yes, I am ma'am. With an applicator no less. :lachen::grin:

I guess its like joining a gym and quiting after 2 weeks because you only lost a pound. You gotta give it more than than that. I have no idea if its working or not, I figure eh what's the harm for trying. Apply it to your scalp and give it till Sept/Oct. Who knows, you could wake up one day and have 20 inches of hair. :drunk:

More like joining a gym that claimed you'd loose a pound in three days with testimonials you did everything they asked and after three weeks only lost one pound. Waking up with 20 inches of hair WOULD be amazing though, right?

When I first started using it, I didn't expect much but what I got was 3 inches in 3 months and much thickness as well. It's not complicated if you follow instructions and read the original threads.

As mentioned more than once, I have and them some --by incorporating it into a NIGHTLY steam treatment. :yep:

Just like any other product - if we saw ads in magazines for MT there would be fine print at the bottom under the "exceptional" progress pictures. The fine print would say results not typical. As we do NOT have magazine ads for MT we are relying upon the exceptional results of a relatively small number of users and hoping that we all experience that same rate of growth.

If this was Turbo Jam or Weight Watchers and you saw that people had lost 100+ pounds, you wouldn't give up after 2 weeks would you? You would say 'well, maybe I need to give this a little more time'. I've had some growth and some thickening. I haven't trebled the density of my hair, nor have I awakened with MSL hair when I went to bed with SL. But I'm seeing what might be reasonable for ME. As long as I'm seeing something, and I'm not experiencing anything detrimental, I'm going to operate under the reasoning that it is doing the best for me that it can. :yep:

Save with weight it's obvious a certain amount of calories must be lost for each pound 3,500 to be exact. You can only burn off so much in one day naturally.

The POINT of growth aids is to get more than you "should" by some means. My rate is such a growth aid that takes 3 months to work is a waste of time. Also, I worry about health issues...what is it DOING for three months? If it works right away at least I know it's going in and out of my system and I can catch any odd symptons accordingly. Why must it stew in my scalp for 3 months AND THEN I see a major increase?

Thank you for being encouraging. I appreciate it!:yep:

Unnecessary and IMO inappropriate. If I wanted sarcasm, I'd have asked for it specifically, I'm afraid. If I didn't think a "large" amount was possible in a short time as evienced by MULTIPLE people in the massive OCT/MT thread I wouldn't have posted this thread in the first place. While I usually strive to entertain, this is one instance where I'm hardly pleased to have caused a giggle.

Ummmm......ok.

I was just joking around with you because of the title of your thread, that's all...after all, it was YOU who mentioned the words "Biblical Proportions", not me dear.

I'll remember that the next time you start a thread.

This would have sufficed much earlier and wasted fewer pixels. You state here "when I first started using it". About how much time was "when I first started using it" between first application and noticible growth?

Geez, relax...it's not that serious. To answer your question, it was around 2-3 weeks when I first noticed growth. The thickness is what I noticed first before the growth.

HTH

"Not that serious to you", being on the giving end. I prefer not to reduce people's perceptions to "it's not that serious". That said, I'm not dying here. Just surprised at a page of what didn't seem productive.

Thank you for these specifics. :yep: My thoughts were to do this two weeks to see if growth would start ANYWHERE during that two week period. My hair is thick enough though.

This DOES help. Much appreciated. :yep:

Well I dont think she is a lamb that has been led astay in her thinking , after all there ARE posts of pictures with growth in 1 week, 2 weeks and three

how was she unreal in her expectations when others are posting thats whats happening for them

Big ole co-sign. I've done double takes looking at the dates in some of the comparison pics.

LittleGoldenLamb, I think you know how much I like you and respect you, at least I hope you do. Please don't take some of the ladies comments too seriously, I don't think they really meant any harm. Nice & Wavy is a doll (just like you) and I feel certain she was just teasing you. If you are really curious about the MT I say give it a few months, otherwise if you are afraid of possible side effects etc. and are blessed with nice, steady growth anyway, I'd just not bother with it. ((((hugs))))

well, you are welcome.

I appreciate this post hopeful and knowing you KNOW that I was just teasing...I appreciate you very much!!!

ETA: and on this note, I guess I'm done in this thread. OP, you can pm me if you like...no prob.

lemme be the first one to tell you i am also not experiencing comparable growth to some of the two week comparison pics. i have seen some where, when all is said and done and if what they are claiming is true, some women have gained over an inch in two weeks.

i just look at it this way. with mt being the new "thing" on this board, a lot of supporters are going to want to prove the product is worth all the hype. when the progress pics first started to surface, the growth was amazing... but was it an inch every two weeks amazing? i dont think the end results, explosive as they were, correlated to that. maybe an inch and a half a month i would wager at the most, maybe. so i admit that i take the current crop of progress pics with a grain of salt because i think sometimes maybe we are kind of eager to prove what we are doing works even if it means slight misrepresentation. i dont think the original progress pics would have looked the same if the pictures were coming in after the first two weeks. this is just my opinion, of course, and im not trying to call anybody a liar.

myself, i think its working for me. after i had a blowout on tuesday, i started megasagging again wednesday and by sunday night i couldnt even move the roots of my hair. im going on a month of mt, btw. i could only move the ends around. my hair was stuck in the directions of the three parts i put them in in the manner in which i apply the mt :lachen: and if i wanted to comb it all back or into a ponytail or w/e it would have required more detangling than i normally have to put up with. i dont think my hair normally acts like that a month post.

early on i wasnt satisfied with the results i was seeing either. i wanted it to come quicker. but now im not making any judgment calls until a reasonable amount of time has passed, in my case, two months. if i see good growth, i am going to keep using it hoping to see great growth. hell, for me personally i am hardly seeing any progress from where i started at the beginning of the year so any noticeable difference will be a huge victory for me. plus, this product seems to be improving the condition of my hair so its worth using for me due to that reason alone. if your hair is already in good standing and you already get decent growth, maybe, for you, it just isnt worth the effort. in my case, my hair grows excruciatingly slowly (i would clock it at 1/4th a month if im lucky) so i think even if i dont get as MUCH growth as others are getting, i'm probably still going to come out with more than i would have without it.

OP, what was your growth rate before MT?

The jury's still out with me. I'm giving MT a solid 90 days before I say if it works or not. I didn't get any miracle results in 2 weeks, but I could feel newgrowth where there usually isn't any, so I would say, for me, it was a success. MY hair is also stronger, the newgrowth is coming in smoother, etc., etc.

Some of the results have had me like  but I haven't had any increase in biblical proportions. Have a little patience, give it some more time, and check in in a few more weeks.:yep:

SO...

I ordered this.

I'm doing a two month review with pics and weekly reports. It's locked at the moment. I was going to open it when finished.

I've used it a week and a half.

I use it as a leave-in. YES. You heard me. My hair comes out shiny, soft, and curly.

AND I SLEEP IN IT OVERNIGHT WITH A SHOWER CAP.

No explosive growth.

I get .5 an inch even with a poor diet. More with tons of protein and extra vits I never ingest.

No explosive growth.

What's the deal?

Is my scalp SUCH a glutton for protein that I can use this as a leave-in OVERNIGHT WITH A SHOWER CAP and get nadda?

Am I alone? Has MT failed to produce miracle results for you?

I'm SO very close to making this a DC and not waste it being a leave-in if it so happens to be the case that this is a miracle for some and a dud for others! I'll link to the challenges and let this go on its merry way and spank myself for having given into using a growth aid.
For Biblical proportions, give God a chance. As for Mega Tek, give yourself a chance.

This hair journey of ours is not an easy 'travel', so I can understand how it feels to witness the raves and cheers about a regime and then when 'we' jump on the band wagon, it doesn't work for us as it does for others.

This is what happened to me with the MTG product. I really liked this product and I wanted so much to share and experience the great results that others were having with it.

It smelled but it gave my hair a beautiful texture and I still wanted this product to work for me, but it didn't. I had a negative reaction to the sulfur concentration that was in it. So, I had to give it up.

For Biblical proportions, God DOES have a hair plan that will work for you. It may be Mega Tek or it may be something else. So for the sake of Biblical grace and abundance, let's ask God to show you 'YOUR' hair plan that will work with you and for you. He will not fail you and neither will we in support of your hair journey. It's a long one, but once you discover your regime that works...it's worth all of the tears and the years that it took to find it.

Hugs and Blessings; you are not alone in this. :bighug:

Thanks Shimmie for the positive post! I know many ladies are expecting miracles from using OCT and/or MT since so many members are giving astounding testimonials and progress pics to boot. I'd be especially dissapointed if nothing happened for me in 1 1/2 weeks when almost everyone else who tried it were raving about their success in a couple of days! Not talking only growth, but members actually seeing or feeling something happening to their hair and scalp within that period of time. The OP said that NOTHING happened in 1 1/2 weeks - no tingling, itching, changes in texture, thickness, NADA! If that's the case, I could understand why she may want to give up. This hair journey takes alot of patience and support from others who understand how important our hair is to us. I know what sent me over the edge to purchase MT were the abundance of positive testimonials from trusted members of LHCF, just like Shimmie :yep: Some are also very sensitive about their hair and don't like being teased about their take on a product because it may not be the popular opinion of most of the posters within this forum. I agree that the  and :lachen: wasn't necessary. For myself, I would wait a bit longer before I call it quits, but that's just me. Just like with every product, not everyone will obtain the results they would like. To the OP: as a recovering PJ and bandwagon stowaway, I can understand your frustration. I wish you success on your hair journey and hopefully you'll find a regimine that works best for you.

My growth rate is a little over .5 a month. I hope MT DOES increase your grwth rate.

OP, what was your growth rate before MT?

See above. MT isn't really worth my time if I have to wait three months for results when my hair does fine on its own. I'm still wondering what it does for 3 months?

Hugs and Blessings; you are not alone in this. :bighug:

Thanks for the kind words. :drunk:

I'm so jealous that you are a RECOVERING PJ? Sister, Please pray for me. I have so many hair products, oils, potions and lotions, extracts that were not exacts for my solution. :thud:. :drunk:

Happy Hair Blessings to you, angel. :giveheart:

Thanks for the replies ladies. I've figured out more or less what I'll be doing with Megatek.:yep:
I thank God for giving you the products that you need. Who knows, you may come back with a new product that we haven't heard of or tried and it will out shine the MT wagon wheels.

You never know...:yep: Just don't be disappointed anymore, okay? :bighug:

Hey littlegoldlamb, sorry if you got offended. The posts were meant as a joke, not to offend  I tend to kid around too much sometimes, don't know my own strength LOL j/k

Anyway I honestly can't tell if my hair has grown with the MT. I figured, what's the harm? Except maybe the money I spent on it. The sulfur mix gave me a mcNASTY rash on my neck and even made me break out like a friggin teenager! I was so disappointed :nono: but it worked on other people. I tend to jump on every bandwagon known to the internet, but its just so much fun. I also tend to fall for those stupid infomercials on TV. Remember the wax that was supposed to be so organic you could eat it? (hair remover) Well I bought it and not only did it NOT work, I accidentally peeled my skin off! Ouch!

The sulfur in the MTG gave me a deep red rash that extended onto my neck and onto my upper shoulders. I was a mess for weeks until it healed. It was painful and it (the irritation) happen so fast before I had a chance to prevent it. It was so bad that it scared me.

Thank God for Neosporin 'Pain' ointment which took the pain away and kept my skin from scarring.

This is no joke. I have the slowest-growing hair in the world. Let me say that again:

I HAVE THE SLOWEST GROWING HAIR IN THE WORLD!!

When I joined this forum last year, I was about 2 inches from APL. In January, guess where I was: 2" from APL!! Now granted I had a couple of setbacks where I had to trim away about 2 inches, but I say that because I know what my hair can do and what it cannot do. And it didn't matter that I was doing protective styles 99% of the time, keeping my ends trimmed, moisturizing, stretching relaxers. My hair is so very fine that it breaks easily. I have to be extremely delicate with it because it's so very fine, like a fine piece of thread.

NOT ANYMORE!! MT/OCT has given me strength! I can take a strand of my hair and it is noticebly denser, stronger and darker!!

I am now PAST APL and going on 15 weeks post relaxer!!!! The only thing that I've done differently is the MT/OCT. That's it. My diet has been great. I've been exercising and taking multivitamins, biotin, MSM. But I had been doing that *before* MT/OCT.

I started with the MT/OCT back in mid-April but wasn't consistent at all. I didn't notice a difference, either. I cut about 1/2 inch in mid-May and was back to 2" from APL.

After seeing LondonDiva's incredible progress, I re-purchased MT and OCT in June and began using daily, 7 days a week as she suggested. I was also inspired by other ladies who had witnessed amazing results, including Rhapsody, Nice & Wavy, and Shimmie. I mixed both products in an applicator bottle and added some grapeseed oil, honeyquat, a couple of drops of rosemary, Vitamin E, and SAA. I used daily. One thing I don't do is put on my hair. My hair hates protein and breaks easier. I would advise that if you, too have fine hair or hair that hates protein, don't put the product directly on the hair shaft.

Two months later and I'm past APL. The pic that you can [barely] see in my avy was my hair blown straight but not flatironed. So I'm sure that it wasn't completely straight.

I finally relax next week. I'll probably trim another 1/2 inch to get my ends even and healthy looking.

Keep trying the product and don't give up. I notice that it takes some time. And especially if you are stretching relaxers, you won't notice a difference. I would give it some time, especially if you're like me and have slow-growing hair in the first place.

If I can grow hair, ANYONE can grow hair.

Girl, you're fine! If it was a joke, it was a joke. In my POV I asked a sincere question in my usual colorful way and then it seemed the first page of responses I had been waiting for were all at my expense...and I still had no answers. Then a couple replies were just unnecessary (which probably added to your harmless ones seeming less harmless). Even then, I was more mildly annoyed then "enraged". Text makes everything somewhat subject to interpretation. Tis' all one!

I'm more concerned about this rash business! I think I AM allergic to sulfur after my MSM episode. Which I took for my skin verses my hair! :nono:

I hope your skin is okay!

Not more rashes! Aw, man. Okay...now I'm giving my MT the cut eye. :perplexed I hope your skin is okay!
