Sunshinebeautiful, where did you find the line at? Hopefully a national chain....

It seems hit or miss as far as who has it in stock already. I've seen the line at Mastercuts and Regis.

I tried Trade Secrets and they didn't have it. I tried JCP but they didn't have it either. :nono:

I actually bought mine at a small salon because I found it for 20% off - after all those price comparisons. *doing the cabbage patch*

I will check Regis, I think there is one in a mall near me. I also checked Ulta and they did not have it.

sunshinebeautiful,

Would you mind listing the ingredients for the mask?

Sure, I don't mind. I apologize in advance for any misspellings. :look:

Aqua/Water, cetearyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride, PEG-180, candellia cera/candellia wax, amodimethicone, cetyl esters, parfum/fragrance, methylparaben, hydroxyethylcellulose, trideceth-6, butyrospermium parkii butter/shea butter, benzyl salicylate, chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, centrimonium chloride, butylphenyl methylpropional, linalool, ppg-5-ceteth-20, wheat amino acids, hydrolyzed soy protein, limonene, 2-oleamido-1, 3-octadecanediol, citronellol, oleth-10, disodium cocoamphodipropionate, lecithin (D27993/1)

All I want to know is, does this line beat All Soft? I've been thinking about this since I eyed it @ Hair Cuttery.

I've never used any Redken products before then so I can't make the comparison myself. I'd be interested in hearing this too.

Sounds a lot like Smooth Down Butter Treat. This is interesting.

Quoted to see the ingredients side by side.

Yeah, they do look really similar. Real Control doesn't have glycerin, lanolin, or macademia seed oil, as far as I can see. Some of the ingredients on the Butter Treat appear higher in the list for the Real Control. And Real Control has added shea butter along with the soy proteins and wheat amino acids.

Yep, they do. Where are some of our hair board "chemists" to break this down?

Do you like the Smooth Down Butter Treat? I haven't tried it. For someone who has, I'm interested in which one they would like better.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Butter treat! The heavy Cream too (only its more proteinish) But the butter treat can even be left in! I'm thinking with this new one being only wheat protein it might be able to be left in too. wheat protein is soft. But I bet the Shea Butter in the new one really sets it off!

Yeah, I don't have a comparison to make, but the Real Control rocks!!! I love it!

I want to try this line so bad, but I can't help but to wonder why do all of the "good" ingredients come AFTER the parabens? From what I understand, parabens are only allowed to make up about 1% of the total product. So if the parabens are 1%, then the shea butter, soy protein, etc. are less than 1%.

What are parabens?

this is why I want to try the real control conditioner first for cw. I tried Nexxus humectress for cw and it was okay, not great, but just okay.
