The shampoo was nice and gentle.
My hair ate up the conditioner some.
I steamed with the mask. Its waxy :ohwell:
Bleh.

My joico condish beat theirs AND the mask.
And if I can recall, the joico shampoo is just as good.

I feel so bad for cheating on joico.
My hair told me to tell yall to skip the hype and just get/stick with the Joico moisture recovery line. The ingredients are much better. I like the smell better. JOICO IS JUST BETTER.

:ohwell::ohwell: I chickened out and didn't buy, but the saleslady gave me a sample of the poo and con. I'll try those first before buying. :yep:

I am going to check the return policy of the place where I orderd it from and see if I can't just send it right back when it gets here and go see if I can get samples later first.

I forgot to add, i might as well be using a product with heavy mineral oil.

I guess you didnt go yet

you could be tellin us your take on it by now

hurr up! hehe

I went and got sticker shock...I've been a bad girl all week long and my pockets are cryin! The lady did put a sample of the poo and con in my bag (of other purchases :look:), I was pleasantly surprised when I got home. Next time I mosey up in there :look: I may ask for a sample of the leave in and the mask. :perplexed Those are the 2 products I'd be most interested in. I really don't need any more poo. (Or conditioner for that matter, but that hasn't stopped me before!)

nothing stops the purchases of conditioner , only someone like my daughter who will take the products out your hand and loudly say YOU DONT NEED IT and pull you out!

She always knows that she ends up being thanked later!

But I hear you , I'm in steady stock up mode right now, damn its expensive!

Yeah, that's a very interesting review. My hair loves this stuff, it always comes out so soft and moist...I'm on my second jar! :yep:

Wooo, I can't wait to try it. My hair loves mineral oil. :ohwell: "Waxy" is an interesting description but it sounds like it would help protect against my incredibly hard water.

I dont know what the ingredients were for earlier in the thread but I didnt see mineral oil , is it in the mask or somethin?

weird this is being described as waxy, because the butter treat has that candalia (sp cause I didnt check it) wax in it. I dont know if thats an actual wax , I mean I guess it is and it doesnt feel waxy to me

But heat glide did!

anyway my hair actually does love mineral oil if it has it, some of my fav condtioners have it

so Im'a just go on and try this, I LOVE Butter Treat and Heavy Cream, it cant be that bad...its REDKEN LOL

i *heart* Redken

No, there's no mineral oil in the mask. The 5th ingredient is candelilla wax. I didn't think it felt waxy, though. I thought it felt smooth and creamy. I've never used Joico, so I can't compare it to that, but I've used Keracare, Nacidit, and ORS deep conditioners.

oh! well I LOVE butter treat and it has that in it, so I guess some are more sensitive than others to feeling the wax

I dont

I agree with everything you just said... :yep: Especially the last part.
Butter treatment doesn't feel waxy to me either and it's my alltime fav condish.

Someone mentioned the mask having mineral oil.

Yeah, me too. There is definitely no mineral oil whatsoever. I didn't think it felt waxy, but the consistency is uber thick. I liked it because it was thick and yummy and made my hair happy.

I've never used Joico either, so I can't compare in that regard. :ohwell:

I saw this line today in Essentials Plus and almost grabbed it. I was in there for nail polish so maybe they do have samples...I think i may just get the mask anyway...my hair needs moisture badly....BADLY!

Hey, How much did you pay for the intense mask. I live in Dallas and finally found a BSS that carried the control line. The mask was $28. YIKES:wallbash:. I purchased it because I wanted to try it and had not found it anyplace else in Texas.

I was in DC this weekend and it was $14.99 in Hair Cuttery. That is a big difference. How much did you folks pay for the mask?????

$28??? :perplexed:ohwell::nono::sad:

It's $12.99 at the store I bought it from, a local BSS at a mall near me. I also called Trade Secret to check - they have it for $14.something.

I got the mask and the leave-in conditioner. The leave-in conditioner has the consistently and feel of a moisturizer. The mask is very thick.

I put the mask on my dry hair, braided it, had dinner, watched a movie, then rinsed. My hair was seriously moisturized! Overmoisturized actually. It was very soft, very light, the curls were very elongated, but I saw more broken strands than normal. I debated doing a protein treatment but decided to put a little anti-snap on and go to bed. It was perfect by morning so rinsed again, then applied the leave-in conditioner. It leaves a nice shine and smooth feel to the hair.

The instructions said to leave it for 5 to 15 minutes. I left it on for about 3-4 hours. It probably wouldn't have overmoisturized if I hadn't left it on for so long.

I'm tempted to go back and get the conditioner. I'll use the mask once/week and the leave-in daily for the next 2 weeks and let ya'll know what I think. So far so good...

Ive never felt what overmoistureized feels like only overproteined, and I know I would leave this on a while. I'm gettin it! The Conditioner though
