Hi Everyone

Ive been kinda MIA from the board as real life has been super hectic busy. I just wanted to touch base with everyone to see how BOOTCAMP was going....

So......How is Bootcamp?

Im hair lazy so Bootcamp has still been good for me. I used a heat pass at the end of last session and now Im back to my protective afro pony and will be DCing and twisting this weekend.

I dont feel like my hair is growing that much...but then again I need to take some new comparison shots :ohwell: I think I may be approaching full APL....but BSL doesnt seem to be coming fast enough. I will see during my next length shots.

Thats all from me....

It's going well. I Bced like I said I would... I'm just waiting for some length right now. I may sign up for two more sessions...

I've been following the rules and I'm bored out of my mind....I relaxed this morning and I have conditioner and coconut oil on my hair right now ...So I'll have updates soon...

I made some progress....I think I only got back the length I lost when I trimmed in March....I'll know when I dry and flat-iron...Got my fingers crossed

I'm being lazy and boring, so yeah, I'm sticking to it. Bootcamp is good to stifle the experimentive urge.

Its going ok. I'm having a porosity problem that needs to be figured out.

I'm either in my daily style down there, a fro, or a puff. I'm going to try to stick with my flat twists but summer weather is really tempting for the wash and go.

I'm probably going to use a heat pass this month because of my birthday and I desperately need a trim.

I'm doing pretty good. I've experienced more dryness though.... I might have to co-wash more often. I'm trying not to relax because I have a wedding coming up in a month. I've been doing protective styles but I'm so bored with pulling my hair back. I have some really cute clips but I have a big head and fine hair so there's only so much I can do. :ohwell:

I messed up and used more heat than I planned for the whole year so now I'm co-washing every other day to get my ends in shape. I don't plan to straighten it again until early next year. I'm just going to wig it for special occasions. I'm drinking nothing but water to offset my slipping up and using heat. It's also a punishment because I am not allowing myself to drink anything carbonated until I drink my water for the day. I don't have that much of a taste for sweets but I'm going healthier and eating yogurt and leaving the candy alone. I want to see how far I can get by the end of August.

It's going okay I think.... I'm 13 week post relaxer and have been having some breakage.... not huge.. I just have to decide to relax or transition.

I have been so busy I haven't had time to do anything to my hair. I have kept it in braids and plaits since Jan 1. I haven't strayed from the rules at all because I haven't had time to. I just moved to VA last Friday. I feel very lost . I don't know anyone. Mothers Day is coming up and I want to get my hair done and I have no clue where to go to get it briaded because I don't feel like doing it myself. I guess I might wear a braidout or baggy it up and wear a wig.

Same here. (Picture in my siggy is my first session's pass) I'm curious to do something different but I'm holding out. Protective styling all the way. I just organized my hair stuff and found a phony pony. I think I'm going to try baggying my ends and sport that for a minute. My next pass will be June 14th. That will show my progress. I too don't think my hair is growing. It looks the same to me as my siggy picture

Everything has been going well. I still have my Senegalese twists in and plan on taking them out next week. After the takedown, I will continue with my usual routine: Twists (with or without extensions), wash, dc etc until bootcamp is over. I know it's extremely boring but this simplicity is working so I'm sticking with it.

I am hanging in.....still doing my weekly pre-poo, wash, dc, rollersets and buns.

I did use my free pass on 4/26 for my birthday, but i am back to my buns and so on.

HHG my sista's of LHCF!

I'm doing okay.

Good news lots of growth. My stretch has been going really well.

Kind of good news, my length has exceeded my styling abilities. It's not that long but I'm floundering.

Bad news-
I still cannot freaking braid my own hair.

Next step- half wig maybe until August.

been sort of lazy with my hair since i got this new job

definitely need a good deep conditioning

my hair's still growing fairly well

just need to get that moisture back in there

Me and my hair have been doing great in session 2. I have upped my workout regime so I am co-washing about 4-5x a week and it goes right into a bun. I am doing cardio so the sweat pours! My scalp is ALWAYS wet afterward and I am too tired to do anything else. I will probably use my pass for this session to straighten my hair for a friend's son's high school graduation and to check my length. I will make sure to take pics! :)

Not bad. Cut 2 inches of my hair as the ends was so dry. Wore protective styles since joining and, 5 months into transitioning - Breakage and shedding are killing me!!! Co-wash once a week, DC each time. Loving my regrowth and may BC at the end of the year.

Still going good. I haven't used my pass for this session yet, but I will around June 6th for dh's b-day. I gave myself a little dusting cause I was bored :perplexed

Good news, after 15 months, I'm FINALLY APL!! :dance7:

Bad news, I used this piece of :censored: Optimum Oil conditioner that messed my hair UP. Two months later, my hair's STILL effed up :swearing:

Still protective styling, rollersetting every now and then. Keeping the ends nice and moisturized.

:woot: Congrats!!!

i had a massive knotting incident and lost some length and thickness but overall my hair is doing ok...i stay in the half wigs and wash weekly ..i was going to use my heat pass for my bday in may but i am going to wait until xmas....im tryin to make it a full year

Hey, I'm doing really well with the Bootcamp challenge as I have been wearing braids and wigs alternatedly. I have not revealed my hair for a long while now and to be honest I miss it out, but I'll hang in there until the end of the year. Good luck everyone and HHG.

Things have been going well for me. I used my pass on Wednesday because I don't self relax (my sister, a professional stylist, does it for me) and I wasn't trying to be in the salon all day so I let her blow dry & flat iron it so I could get back in the bed. I trimmed right before the session started and I DC'd every wash anyway. I've been phony ponying it every so often and my half-wig has been more than a lifesaver at 11 weeks post.
Bootcamp is a way of life. :yep:

I'm doing very well. My hair is healthy and it's growing. I've simplified my regimen even more, I didn't even think that was possible. I'm enjoying myself.

Things are going well so far. I used my pass from session one way too early, so im pacing myself this session. The puff and twist-out have been my staples so far. Im kind of itchin to see my progress, so I broke down and bought curlformers which stretch the hair pretty good without any direct heat. Its raining alot this spring in my area so that helps me to not blowdry and flat-iron cause I know it wont last. :nono:

I dont know how to do the multiple quotes....so Im just going to respond overall.

Im happy that you ladies are sticking to the rules for the most part and seeing the results. It definitely requires patience and consistency :yep:

Congrats to those who reached new hair goals!!! Keep up the good work!!

Hopefully those who are having problems, will find the solutions to the dryness, breaking, or hair boredom.

I loved the comment "Bootcamp is a way of life" Thats hot...after almost a year and a half of bootcamp...I couldnt agree more!!!

I'm doing very well, co-washing daily...my current protective style is my hair slicked back with curl activator gel held down with a octopus clip...boring but effective. :yep:

HHG ladies!!! :yay:

Good news, after 15 months, I'm FINALLY APL!! :dance7:

:congrats:

Well with my six month stretch the no heat thing wasn't working and I was going to stop, but I just relaxed instead. So I'm still going and exercising often so co-washing often. I did use my heat pass at the end of the cardio challenge.
