New Redken for "us"

I can not wait for this line! I have always wanted to try Redken and this will be my first purchase from their for sure .

I can't imagine it being better than the All soft line and the Smooth Down Butter Treatment.

ITA...I love Redken.

LOL...well actually...I tried the whole line. I was trying to save the details until the post was up on my blog. I have devoted my life to Redken! I'm also excited about the Thermal Mist because I think it will really be an asset to those who use heat on the hair. It's a liquid mist so hair won't be as weighed down as usual using serums, creams, or whatever. I'd still use a serum with it, just not as much. Also, the Creama Care (Haven't used it yet) descriptions sounds like a mix between the Detangling Cream and Butter Treat!!!! Damn y'all, I'm trying to save some content for my blog!!!

Pantene's Relaxed and Natural is brown. What other ones are purple?

But apparently "eggplant" is a derogatory term for black people.

I thought that too! I was like - see! Why, of all the colors of the rainbow, did they have to pick purple for the black folks line?

I'm tempted, but commercial products are rarely 'clean' enough for my hair. It sounds soooooo delightful though!! *fingerscrossed that they are cone-free!*

Purple is the color of royalty. Only kings were allowed to wear purple back in the olden days. I don't see what the big deal is

According to what I've found on the net, they are not specifically marketed to aa's. They are for anyone whose hair would fit this description:

So, there is no link between the purple packaging being for blacks.

I love purple things also, anything purple attracts me like a moth to a fire. I haven't had luck with the Redken Smoothdown line, but hopefully this one is will agree with me more. Also since it comes out the month of my birthday so I just might be a extra happy girl when it comes around.

Other things that are purple...I can't really think of other examples, hmmm the Queen line was purple and also geared toward black people, and dark and lovely is the same (though there are other black care lines that aren't purple). I just noticed a trend with the color, I'm sure there are others but they escape me. As for purple being the color of royalty sure it did use to be a color that was esteemed by the royal class but then they released it to the masses and the lower classes immediately took it in, so now in our time purple is a color that is associated with lower classes (well at least according to Paul Fussell the author of Class).
Its not a big deal, really just an observation, things being certain colors, or packaging doesn't stop me from buying them (exception maybe Dr. Miracle's products).

good observation.Maybe when the line drops and the packaging is in purple we can find out what inspired it(if anything...)and also what inspired a line geared towards "us"...Maybe we have a "cousin" that works for redken?
