im 18 weeks into my transition also know as 4 months 2 weeks
im loving it my next mini chop will be may 11 when i wash deep condition my hair and blow dry:grin:
then ill braid it back up again:yep:

I am currently 10 weeks post relaxer. The only hard part is washing and detangling. That part really made me reconsider my decision but I still press on and hopefully I can make it to a year.

I am so frustrated and disappointed.

I'm 13 wks post (I think, it might be 12). Anywho, I only have about 1 inch of NG on hairline and crown and less than that in the back. Well, according to my husband.

This is all unstretched. Do you guys measure stretched or unstretched?

Also, shoot, I can't always tell the relaxed from the NG. It's not scab hair, the relaxer application in January was only my second one since 2001.

I'm sorry that your frustrated. :bighug:

I noticed that the first couple of months I couldn't really "see" the ne growth, but I could feel it with my fingers. Maybe your natural hair texture is similar to that of your relaxed hair? My hair in the back of my head is and so I couldn't "see" the new growth all that well. But I know it's growing because my back has always been the fastest growing and it keeps up with, or out paces the rest of my hair.

Me, I don't stretch, I just pull up a section of hair and look for the kinks, coils or waves. I kinda guess at the measurement.

**rings bell**

Checking in for 2008. :yep:

I am new to transitioning and decided today that I will aim for zero relaxers for 2008. My last relaxer was late March (Dudley's Lye Mild).

No plans for BC, just trimming.

:spinning:

Welcome .. it's fun for me .. hope u enjoy it too

I was 13 weeks post, then I caved in and relaxed cuz I started a new job :ohwell: I've only worn my hair down once to work cuz I work out everyday, I could have still been transitioning but whatev!

I'm 3 weeks post and board with my relaxed hair. Trying to keep up the excitement but it ain't there. I'm playing with the coils that have started to come on now. I miss them. :yep:

I am going to be transitioning too!!! I am 4 months post as my last relaxer was January 16th. I am not 100% sure of my hair texture, but i think 3c-4b lol. I did a dusting last night after straigtening my hair. I feel like the summer will be the hardest time to keep my hair looking tamed because the heat makes it frizzy.

Urm I give up in the weeks btu Ill be 3 years transitioning in a month or 2. :spinning: Yea there is actually relaxed ends left and they arent going anywhere unless I cut them. Surprise surprise to all those whop told me it would fall off :look: You can do it ladies!!!

I want to see your hair.

Hello, all, and I'm at 14 weeks post....going better than I thought. You guys are a blessing, so is this site. I look forward to my waist-length, natural hair....I'm still trying out new looks...so far I can still wear my rollerwrap, but I'm trying not to comb on a daily basis, you know?

I feel good about this. Real good.

Checking in at 22weeks post!! So far I've had some breakage in two spots:nono: but other than that its going better than i imagined:grin:.

Ironically the part that i'm having problems with is the relaxed ends. the new growth is extremely easy to detangle, but as soon as i hit the relaxed area, the fighting begans!!

28 weeks and loving it!

Haven't had any issues so far other than my own impatience and I have no desire whatsoever to relax again, never ever for ever ever!
I plan on transition till I reach waist  MissMarie and Curlybear is my hairspiration!

Checkin in, 13 months post- last month I put in a weave, been alternating the weave with a half wig and phony tail! No plans to BC anytime soon, but then again I have done 2 or 3 mini chops up to this point.

17 weeks post, still hanging in there.

i was thinking of a mini-chop, but decided against it.
i do have some scap hair. it feels rough in some sections, but hopefully it will get better.
my relaxed hair is the REAL troublemaker :ohwell:

I'm in!!!, I don't know how many weeks post i am (about 12). The last time i tried, i failed miserably(and hair broke off in back). Since then i have grown up, and really understand my hair. I will do it!

I'm checking in. I'm not sure if i did already lol. But i'm around 54 weeks. I have no plan on the BC anytime soon. I have at least another year.

I am 13 weeks post and just discovered the power of Aussie 3 minute miracle and my denman rush for detangling:lick:. I wish i would of known these products at first to help stop the breakage. Also for my last rinse i use distilled water instead of tap........BIG DIFFERENCE ( we must have really hard water).

I can't remember if I checked in but I'm going on 18 weeks post. I don't think I've gone past 10-12 weeks and that's only because I was wearing microbraids then.

i'm at 32 weeks and every week i want to get a relaxer. i know what works for relaxed hair and i'm trying to add more moisturizer to that regiment, but what is the question.

13 weeks post  thanks to this site and BIG UPS to Semo and MissNorway :clapping:, I have found something that works. I no longer use heat (it was rather pointless w/ the weather warming up anyway), I co-wash every other day, slick my hair back in a bun, throw a wig on (sometimes I just wear my bun) and go!!!

Thanks to everyone for such great tips!

im only 4 weeks post now. i do not plan to bc (never again:nono:) Im just growing it out and will only trim for health. i cant wait till i can do buns again. buns make transitioning easy, at least for me
