I'm interested in how much you pay at a salon, at a ghetto hairshop, at somebody's apartment. Don't forget to say what city you live in, too!

I'm thinking I may do this as a sideline to bring in a little loot off the books :sekret:

I haven't had a sew-in since I transitioned (about 2 yrs), and I paid anywhere from $175 to $250. (for a full-head)

I live in Arizona now, and from what I see, it's rare to find a salon doing it for under $200.

In Vegas, I was paying $150-$175, depending on where I went.

I would pay 100 not including the hair... but the stylist was the sister of my BFF at the time so she was cutting me a deal. She works in a salon in Chicago (don't get excited though, not the downtown area). I don't think her actual prices were more than 200 though unless you wanted curly weave.

I tried to lighten the pic so you could see how my hair blended in

for future reference, are these pics too big?

yes it is expensive and can be at times. Especially for the hair not being included. I wish i could do my own weaves.

I pay usually anywhere between 150.00 to 250.00.

But if you can get your monies worth and make it last then thats even better.

I wish i could get up to that point where i could keep a weave in for at least 2 months. I just get so bored so quick. I loved my last weave i'll never go back to straight hair again.

$125 partial or full head not including hair at Ocular in Clinton Maryland. That was a year or so ago may be higher now. Lasted 3 1/2 - 4mos.

$45 in South GA (Thomasville-friend and Albany-maybe even as low as $25 from family). Too bad I can't get there more frequently.

$120-195 in Jacksonville Florida. Not including hair.

I pay $135.00, this includes gettin the hair layered in my favorite Beyonce Style...and then getting my pageant gurl curls.. I live in Boss Town (Boston, MA)

At a regular salon between $130 and $200. The African braid shops charge between $80 and $120. The least amount I've paid was $35 by a beauty school student. She hooked me up. Most of the time I paid between $60 and $80 or I did it myself.

$150 not including hair at a shop in Atlanta (downtown). However, that was as a favor since the stylist is good friends with a good friend. Normally he charges $200-220 not including hair. This was for shampoo, deep condition, full head sew-in, and cut & style.

I paid $80 not including hair.
It was done at a 'round the way salon.
It's a full weave with just the bang area exposed.
I'm in CT.

Last year I paid $100 for a full head with the horseshoe exposed (and that included the relaxer). Hair not included. Same gal did it.

Please share the info about this salon. I go through Houston atleast twice a month.

apt or home- no more than 100 however u can find ppl who do it for about 70

salon-depending on length, cut, and style it can be from 200 and up

ghetto shops- if they even kno what their doing about 150 or $15 a track

ME- $$50... lol i do my own tracks hair becuz u see those prices above.. not from MY POCKET!! (pix of tracks i have done on myself in my fotki)

(MD AREA)

In Jamaica it ranges from us$25-us$50. conversion(A$1800-JA$3500). Some persons get their friends to do it for free.

Note: Hair not included

My last sew in at a salon was about $250. $50 for the hair (which I did not like, next time I'll pay more for remi hair), $200 for the install.

I used to pay $145, but the salon prices went up to $165. I leave 15% tip. My sew-in ALWAYS looks natural and I can leave it in up to 8 weeks, so definitely a deal for me :yep:.

I used to pay 90-100. Now I pay 75 and if its just a curly weave 60. My lady does a great job, she wash, weave and style and send you on your merry way!! I live in Brooklyn!

In New York, I paid $75 for a partial head. In MD, the cheapest I paid was $60, and now I am currently going to a stylist who charges $100. I keep my sew-ins for 4-5 weeks.

i am very interested in doing my own weaves, are there any free tutorials which are safe for your hair?

Please share her info.
I live in Austin, I paid $250 for one a couple years ago and I had to take it out, it was just a horrible job.
I got one in February at somebody's home she charged $75 but she didn't do a great job covering the tracks in the top.
I went to another salon last month she said $325, but she didn't even have a portfolio and when I went for a consult on a Friday evening her salon was empty so of course I had to pass.
