What texture is this?

Is this 3 c? I am thinking it's a little tighter than 3c?
I roller set a few days ago and am taking photos of almost 14 week post roots (the ones that still have some significant curl after the set).

I would say 4a as well. That looks like my NG and having seen my hair completely natural in the past, I'm pretty sure that's my hair type.

4a, its a little too coily to be 3c, 3c is usually straighter when its growing out and the curls larger.

imo its 4a just a looser version of it. remember the system represents ranges. i think alot of people forget that. some of my hair is like that too

I'm gonna take some more photos on my next wash to see if I can figure this out. I'm only abut 14 weeks post so it may take a few months & more new growth before I can really tell.

You also have to take into consideration that the weight of the straight hair as well as "scab" hair could be affecting her true texture. Even holding it straight up by the straight ends affects this. If she were to cut the straight end off, it would probably coil up upon itself more. I think it is 4a or a 4a/3c mixture.
You'll probably get a "true" sense of your texture if you did a big cut. Whatever it is, it's pretty.

yup, i agree with you & silvergirl. i think most 3c hair that still has relaxed ends attached tends to look a lot looser than this. however, op will know her true texture when she cuts off her ends. i thought my hair was looser and wavier when i was transitioning, it turned out i had a lot of tight coils.

i agree that her texture is pretty .
