I wonder if the client tried to leave w/o paying the stylist.

This also makes one think twice about going off on these triflin stylist. Maybe if you dont' like something..it might not be smart to go off or comment on what you don't like. It be better to make up an excuse and leave quietly.

Wow!

This is what worries me. Styling is a service that I PAY for. I believe that if I'm unhappy with a service, I should be able to say so. That doesn't mean be rude to the stylist. If the style isn't WAAAAAAY off of what I wanted (every artist has an interpretation) then I will pay for my service. If it's ugly, you just may not get a tip, and depending on your attitude you may not get my continued patronage.

It's bad enough that women have had to stop going to their styists because they are scissor happy, have questionable methods, try to make us feel inadequate and dependant by telling us that we don't know anything about caring for our hair and don't listen to what patrons want. Now we have to be worried that expressing dissatisfaction will result in violence? Foolishness I say!

Granted, this was in someone's house. If I'm going to let someone else in my head, I prefer to go to an actual shop. At least I know the stylist has a licence... Oh, and I want witnesses. :look:

another spin on the story

WASHINGTON -- A 28-year-old woman was shot Thursday evening during an argument with another woman in a Donnan Avenue apartment in Washington.

Police said Monique Reed, 38, was charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of reckless endangerment following the shooting in her home. Lauren Newton was shot once in the buttocks.

Newton told reporter Renee Kaminski that Reed had been her hairdresser for the past 15 years. Newton reportedly went to Reed's home for a weave, but when she told Reed she was unsatisfied, Newton said Reed attacked her.

Newton was taken to a hospital with cuts, bruises and a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

I agree w/you two.

Some of these stylists are quite gangster though w/their hoodlum boyfriends and their stank attitudes. :(

The Dominican salons haven't gotten to that pt yet though at least not in my area.

However, MOST AA salons/stylists are not this crazy. I wonder if this woman was even a liscensed stylists or just some lady who learned how to do hair.
