I have to :yep:agree with everybody that said we graduate from the twa stage when we can do a decent pony puff, because, I don't know about everybody else, but anything less than that on me, thanks to shrinkage, still looks very teeny-tiny afro like. So, I will be in this challenge far longer than six months. With shrinkage, six months of growth is like 1/4 of an inch for me. Okay, I'm exaggerating slightly, but you get my point...:drunk:

These are the tiny puffs Im talking about:
Oh that's so pretty...I'll be in the mirror every week trying to get that style...telling my hair to grow already why don't ya!!:look:

What type of bands do you use to make your puffs that are gentle to our curly locs?

I totally get your point that's why I wanted some type of bench mark or milestone to work towards...and I was starting to have the feeling that although my hair is growing fast, it's going to be longer than 6 months :-)

But let's look at it this way, in the summer our hair growth should be through the roof...I plan to run a lot this summer and co-wash every day. I'm going to take a picture this weekend to have a progress marker. This will be more accurate than me asking my son if my hair is growing every week!! LOL:lachen:he always says yes!! :lachen:

sign me up ladies. I will post my starting pics this weekend and also change my avatar pic

ETA: the pics are coming ladies, I promise :yep:.

Thanks. Im just using the regular little black rubber bands. I did them a little to tight. Im starting to have problems with my edges so it was suggested that I cut out the twisties ect. I only wear them for a couple of days when I do wear them, but that still is stress on those areas.

So glad I found this tread! I did the bc last night after a 5 month transition. The two textures were just too much. So if it's not too late, I'm in.

WOW!!! Everyone is doing great:grin: Even though I am tex-laxed I still got my Twa and it looks natural, but I still have some shrinkage but not alot. But so far I am having good growth, my 3 month pic is in my avitar, but we can go longer than 6 months LOL!!!!!! 6 months is just our halfway point to see how far we have gotten and I know shrinkage is a mutha!!!

I'm In! WooHoo.

I BCd on 7 Mar 08! I still can't believe it. I've so happy.

Alicianicole, that was why I did my BC. 6 months after transitioning when I was supposed to do it for a year. I'm happy though.

Oh this is going to be great...we can share style and tips. lol

Do any of you baggy? How often? since I've only had TWA for 3 days now...I baggyed every night.

How often? I baggy at least 2-3 days a week!!
since I've only had TWA for 3 days now...I baggyed every night.

Your questions answered above in red, but anyhoo, I couldn't quite hang with my transition LOL I got impatient and went to chopping the rest of my texturized ends off!! I originally planned to do it in June, but :ohwell: So I honestly really feel your excitement.

I am definitely in. I hope it is not too late and I for sure need more than 6 months.
What are you guys doing lately.
I plan of action is:

MN or BT every night
DC atleast one or twice a week
Moisturize daily
wear a satin scarf at night

I think I wanna try the cayenne thing too, but I need more info on that. if anyone has anything on it please let me know.

I'm looking at some of yal's teenie weenie puffs (twp)...nice, but if I post mine they'll be itty bitty puffs (ibp). :lachen:I agree with Cherry Blossom, If I can get one good 'n healthy puff...I've graduated from the TWA Club.

I was just about to ask when a TWA, TWP, or a IBP is no longer.

Im so happy with my twa at the moment, its growing :) although waist lenght seems a long way off for me right now, looking at my natural hair in the mirror makes me so happy. I cant believe the texture and its definately not what it was when I was younger. it feels like Im embarking on a journey...sad I know:lachen::lachen::lachen:

I'm very impressed with the rate of my growth since i bc'd in december07:grin: I try to take pics each month to check the progress.

:grin:It is good to see you all having great progress:grin: I am so excited about my Tex-laxed Twa LOL!! It seems to be growing really fast now and is looking so healthy!!!

I know I am sooo late, but I bc'ed a few days ago and need a new challenge since I'm no longer transitioning or BSL anymore, lol!:drunk: Plus, you guys are my best guage on how I am able to do my hair both style wise and regimen wise now that it's so short!!!

ugh i can wait to get out of this stage:wallbash: i can pull the back into a puff but the top half is too short and will only stay back if its smothered with gel. i need a few more months:ohwell:

I am back checkin in...it's almost been 2 months but I got an inch of growth the first month and trimed it all off 2 days later... I started with 3 inches and at the end of the month i had 4. Right now I am only a few CM away from 4 in. (My months end on the 7th)

In case you guys wanted to know I'm using MN, Rosemary, Sulfur 8, Cayenne EO, mix most nights out of the week.
I'm also taking a liquid Multi along with Burried Treasure Hair, Skin and Nails vits. too.
I workout 5 days a week and drink 2 liters of water a day.
Last month I was cowashing daily but just decided to change it up to 2 times a week.
I don't pick out my TWA anymore b/c I don't like the look, I just let it curl and do it's thing.
I stopped searching for curl definition b/c it was making me a PJ and I was using that knock off denman too much and it still didn't look right. :nono:

I baggy now, when i think "maybe I should baggy tonight" so i'm not consistent but it seems to be working.

I wasn't using MN for about 2 weeks during first month and still got good growth so I think it's all of the stuff we are doing combined is what is gettin us good results.

Happy Growing Ladies.

Maybe we could post pix of our TWAs at the begining of each month or something? I don't know lol

Maybe you could modify the puff and make a little bang? I do that sometimes and just put tiny twists in the front.

I'll post pix later as I am at work right now. LOL :lachen:I'm working hard on LHCF!
