Okay, I've realized that it's that time of the year for me unfortunately and it's really getting out of control. This is really the first year that I've actually noticed the shedding since this is only my 2nd year with LHCF.
I've heard all about the garlic shampoo's but for some reason, I can't find them anywhere. Is there anything else out there other than the garlic shampoo that can combat the problem?
Can you ladies who are experiencing the dreadful shedding please help a sista out?!?! I try not to manipulate my hair that much as the days go by but I still find long hairs in my hand, even if I'm just putting moisturizer in it.

It's really frustrating so I'm hoping some of you out there can assist.

Thanks ladies and Happy Holidays to you all!!!

Add JBCO to your DC. It works for me.

I'm shedding and have been for about two months. It's fianlly eased up some the last couple of days. I've also been using Mane and Tail conditioner, don't know it that has something to do with it.

Oil Rinses
Avacado Mask mixed with Oils
Patene Breakage Defense Line esp the mask
CO washes
Air Drying
Not doing rollersets (i think I was rollering my hair too tight or something)

These are some of the things that have really helped with my shedding.

I'm shedding like crazy, maybe because i haven't washed it in 2 1/2 weeks, I'm currently sitting under my heating cap with Brahmi powder paste on my hair then i will add a cholesterol treatment. you can also use the amla powder. give it try, hopefully that will stop in its tracks.

I co-washed with this last night. I completely forgot about it for awhile. I will incoporate this back into my regimen. I love this conditioner because it leaves my hair nice and soft and it detangles it well too.

I co-wash often and I always airdry. I never do rollersets because it's too time consuming. I think I might try the Pantene line but I wasn't too fond of the moisturizer, shampoo or conditioner. However, I haven't tried what your suggesting so I just might.....

Please refresh my memory on what this is. Is it Joico.........?

Jamaican black castor oil. It stops the shedding for me and thickens my ends. warning: please try not to do oil rinses with it. Its too thick will not rinse out.

I'm shedding like crazy too, it happens yearly. I've just learn to accept it because I've tried everything from garlic shampoos and that expensive Alter Ego stuff that did JACK squat for me. Deep treatments don't work, hardcore proteins don't work, just not manipulating my hair too much seems to be the key and waiting for the season to pass, my shedding usually ends around mid-December.

How are you applying this to your hair? Or are you applying it to your scalp?

Yeah I heard about this one too but soon as I saw the price I passed. Good thing I did. I'm hoping mine subsides before the new year.

I use it with my DC. I put on my deep conditioner and apply some oil put on my heat cap DC for 1 hour and rinse out. I also use it to seal my ends after i moisturize. Thats stuff is like gold to me. I got some shipped straight from Jamaica.

e$h i've just washed out my brahmi powder, my hair shedding has dramatically decreased I've lost only 10 hairs so far a huge diffrence, i had balls of hair coming out before using this treatment. I reckon you should give it a try, also add amla and shikakai to brahmi paste, they also strengthen the roots. I've just added my cholesterol cream too, and i'm under the cap again. I'll write back and post my results

Indian herbal powders - amla, shikakai, aritha - have stopped my shedding. I've never used anything so effective before in my life.

My shedding has decreased since I started drinkig braggs acv & honey mix. This is the only change that I have made to my regimen so I know it most be from this.

I'm a shedder. When I am in the office I see my hair in papers, my coat, floor. Its kinda embarsssing. The avocado conditioner helps somewhat but its still going on!!

I did so much research over this past weekend b/c I was convinced that I was losing all the thickness I worked Oh so Hard for.

Here is what I came up with: essential oils...

I mix lavender, garlic extract with a base of coconut for the first treatment.

Then I used just the lavender and coconut oil. I was also exp. dry itchy scalp which I assume accelearated my shedding which I've never exp. before...

I did the both treatements twice and all shedding ceased(along with the soreness of my scalp.) I hope it was just growing pains....My hair looks and feels great. It also got me into thinking that scalp health is very important...I've always used MTG but almost stopped completely since going stratight...I've just purchased my indian oils and hope to see tremendous progress. Hope this helps....And sorry so long

yes I've been shedding like crazy.

Thank god it's not just me. My nightmare is me going bald.

Tell me about it. All I have to do is touch w/moisturizer and hair is in my hand. It's bad enough my hair is already thin.

Gosh, it is SUCH a relief to know there are others going through the same thing that I am :look:. I am losing my mind over here. I am losing so much hair on a daily basis that I've really been thinking I will not have any hair when it's all said and done! I remember another time experencing a lot of hair loss...I'm going to have to look at my past posts to see if it was around this time of year, if so, I will know it's the season, otherwise, I may need to see a doctor STAT .

I'm DEFINITELY going to check into the Indian products and henna.
