I am too. Just wondering, how much shedding are you ladies experiencing. Do you have any pics to show. I've been a shedder all my life and experiencing the most on wash days when I detangle. Does anyone have a good suggestion how I can detangle without seeing half my strands on the floor?

i'm a big time winter shedder. i have been wearing my hair braided up under a wig and when i take it down to wash for the week there is a lot of hair in the comb. hell there is hair even when i finger comb to moisturize my hair. this thread gave me some ideas on what to use...

i also heard garlic shampoo is good for this problem but my local bss don't carry it which means i have to order it online. :ohwell:

Just remember 50 to 100 hairs a day. If you leave it up and don't touch it u r still gonna shed. When you manipulate the normal shedding will come out.

OIC...

So there is such a thing as winter shedding? I thought it was MN that was doing it... My hair wasnt breaking significantly... so I thought I was finally doing something right... and all I see are these long hairs with bulbs on it jumping out of my head.

So does anyone notice a change in thickness in the spring after all this shedding?

Since, the weather started getting colder I've noticed the same thing. My ends are drying out so much quicker and too much hair is coming off the ends when I take out my rollers out after a rollerset. Also, the strands that come out, when I pull them they don't seem strong at all.

Although,w hen I go to the salon, there are no groups of shedded hair coming off the ends. But the ends are still drying out. I've noticed that when I wash my hair, that my hair dries a little too quickly (ends).

I'm shedding now. But I really don't care because I know it's normal. I still got a head full of hair. It is slowing down a lot though.

Yeah for me. It just magically becomes thicker.

I just noticed the shedding in the last few days, I'm going to try henna and conditioning with Amla. I guess I never paid much attention to Winter shedding before This is the most length I have ever obtained since childhood, so I think the length makes it more visable . I pray it stops soon
.:yep:

I think everyone has a shedding time.

I personally dont do anything extra, you can to lose up to like 100 hairs a day anyways

I just figure if youre someone who doesnt comb or manipulate your hair alot its gonna look like alot more than it maybe

Garlic Shampoo never helped me in my shedding periods .. only in what could be considered unusual shedding .. IMPO dont go spending a whole rack of money trying to stop something that supposed to happen ..
