I think your hair is very thick and has a nice length to work with.

I personally would dust only. And honestly, I would not even do that if I was not having problems with a little breakage or styling the way I want. even with the uneven section there, you can hide that by wearing your hair curly or up.

OT, but your babies are cute!

I guess you'll have to do a trim eventually to even up. Just stay up on good deep conditioners and make sure to keep your ends (several inches of end) well moisturized. Maybe some oil rinses might help. Yeah, good moisturizing with a nice seal, castor oil, maybe. :yep:

Your hair is a bit uneven, but other than that it looks like it's growing nicely and it doesn't look damaged. My hair is also a bit uneven, but I'm not going to trim it until I'm a bit past BSL. You don't seem to have any splits, so overall I'd say it's pretty healthy.

ITA with Honeydew and Brownie as well. Even with the prior damage I got, I'm not going to do a BC, or anything drastic. So, my advice is to do what I plan to do: take 1/2 inch off every 3 months until I reach 3 inches past BSL, and trim back to BSL. I've got about 5 inches that need to go. If I lose 1/2 inch every 3 months and it takes me 12 months to get to 3 inches past BSL, I lose 2 inches from the 1/2 inch trim and the final 3 inches off gets me to my BSL goal. How 'bout that?

That sounds like a good plan. The only reason why I'm so hesitant to trim my hair is because I don't trust myself nor anyone else to trim it (since I had a really bad experience with a supposed hair "trim"). My hair is actually not as uneven as it used to be, but it's still somewhat uneven. It's a good plan to gradually trim it so the loss of length isn't noticeable or shocking.

I agree. I was too busy looking at the cute babies to notice your hair. Maybe you should just take them everywhere you go and let your hair do it's thing.:yep:

I agree nothing.

It looks pretty healthy for relaxed hair.

If you don't mind it being uneven then opt for a trim when you get closer to a goal say bra strap length and continue with protective styles. Hair doesn't all grow at the same rate so a deep trim may not be necessary as most parts may eventually catch up.

However if you want to wear it out more often then you may want to consider a good trim and follow up with regular dustings when you need them.

Your hair looks good, but the ends need to be trimmed rather badly. But that is just me - I like even ends, especially when the hair is down. While I think the ends do need a trim (well maybe more than that) to make them even, if you wear your hair up all of the time, the uneveness won't look so bad.

I would also even it up. But I'm wondering, does one side of your hair always grow faster than the other side? Because if that is the case, then evening them up might not help.

Your hair is pretty and healthy looking. i would love it to death and baby it. I wouldn't trim to even it until you feel like you should. I personally wouldn't until the shortest part reached the length I wanted. I would put it in lots of pretty healthy buns! Like my mom says "People pay to have hair like yours!" :yep:

ITA:yep:!!!!

If it were my hair, I'd trim to make it look less uneven, but not even it up completely (it'll correct itself; it just needs a tiny bit of help), then continue my deep conditioning, bunning, and moisture/sealing.

I was like :nono::perplexed:dizzy::look:
Me too...

I'm a newbie also but I think dusting would be safer - you'll retain the length and look healthier. A previous poster also suggested that you wear it up or curly so that the un-evenness (sp) is less noticiable. HTH, HHG.
Oh BTW, Your hair is beautiful :yep:

IMO your hair looks very healthy !! Really thick and shiny w/ nice length. you have a section that is a little longer than the rest but once your hair is bumped you probably can't tell-it's not look OMG her hair is uneven--your ends look healthy to me/

Me myself (since i had 1 side way longer than the other)
I would cut it even for you it would be shoulder length (for me in was inbetween my shoulders)

than let it grow back even

i tried to wear it curly but because 1 side was way shorter i had 1 side of tight curls and 1 side of longer curls

before pic

After pic

I made that cut the 3rd month in this year you can look at my avater pic and see it has grown back and than some

If i had never cut it i would have a lot more length but that uneven side had to go.

that's right, if you keep trying to even out before you get to your goal you'll never see progress...do a light dust on the ends... then step away form the scissors:nono:
