Daily Habits Determine Your Growth
Greetings Healthy Hair Growers!

One thing I noticed that many ladies with long hair and thick hair have in common is massaging their scalps with growth oils. For added growth some people do the "inversion method" for a week periodically

I want to massage daily, but with busy days it's very easy to forget

I'm creating this challenge to hold us accountable to massage our scalps to our goal length!

Before you begin, post how many days a week you want to commit to massage your scalp. Each day you massage you'll post here and say how many days you have completed

For example., if you committed to 4 days and you're on day 2 of massaging for the week, you would post 2/4

Week starts on Sunday. Tally's will restart on Sunday

In addition to posting your days of massaging, we will post the time we spent massaging. We want to aim for at least 5 minutes, but no less than 2 minutes, but do however long you can :) You can use a stop watch or timer to know how long you've massaged your scalp

Post your days of massaging and how long you massaged on each day. That's it, Happy Massaging to your goal length!

You're more than welcome to share your goal length/density and any other hair goals you have. Massages with growth aids and heat :mwahahafire: can accelerate growth :)

Goal Length: WHIP (Between Waist Length and Hip Length
Massage Days: Committing to daily massages, 7/7

1/7, 2MIN
Today massaged for 2 minutes inverted with a electric massager. Applied growth pomade before massaging

I started in mid January. So far, I've noticed that it has greatly reduced the amount of hair I shed during shampoo days. I went from quarter sized hair amounts down to a countable number of hairs. That was enough to keep me on track to do it daily.
That's amazing! What's your current length and goal length?

Are you going to join the challenge?

That's a nice goal, having thick hair is always nice! :)

Glad you're in on the challenge!

Since you're daily massaging like me you goal is 7/7 Sunday through Saturday. You would post you tally for massages daily. We would reset our tally on Sunday

When you massage you'll post how long you massaged for and any other notes you want to add :)

Nicw you have a hair journal. Im developing one, but need to make a habit of using it

:curtain:

So I'm going to shoot for massaging my scalp 5 days out of the week. I usually do it while washing my hair sometimes with my vibrating scalp massager.

I'll also be massaging with WGO/JBCO mix throughout the week as well.

My goal is to reach right above Hip Length by December 31st 2025.

Thanks for inviting me to the challenge!

Yay you made it! :)

I use an electric massager too and it feels amazing! I don't use it in the shower. I have a satin scarf or plastic shower cap on when using it

Have you noticed a noticeable difference when you use vs when you do not use WGO? Which one do you use?

I’ll join. I was slacking on consistent massages even though I think they work well.

A few weeks ago I bought this Manta brush. As a finger detangler, I haven’t felt a need to buy a tangle teaser or any of the other versions, until I bought this brush. It has long flexible ‘bristles’ slightly wider spaced than most flexible brushes I’ve seen like this. I knew I’d use it most as a massager due to its ergonomic design. I’ve been using it, as well as my fingers, to massage my scalp at least every other night (maybe 3-4mins with the brush). My scalp feels tingly once I’m finished.

Thank you! It’s been a while since I’ve seen my hair out in its bulk because I’ve been in boho braids for months, redoing them individually. I had heat damage in my crown that I’ve bee trimming away. I think my hair is SL. The front is just passed my chin. The back is longer but I will be trimming for fullness and shape when I eventually take these braids out, and give my hair an overall assessment.

Wow your method of wearing braids is impressive and must be getting or maintaining nice density! I wish I could do that too but I don't wash my briads. I plan to wear them for 2 weeks at a time, 3 weeks max

I hope the hair trim/cut goes well and there will be no more set backs until goal :)

What type of heat caused the heat damage and what temperature setting if it was a flat iron?

I was doing something naughty- touching up the roots of my press but I forgot I had used a little waxy product, with an unforgiving titanium iron. That did it. I keep my iron just below 200C, usually 190 (can’t find degrees on this phone).

I hope my density is improving. I have unwanted layers. So I’m aiming for a full throughout.

I understand why you don’t wash your braids. As soon as I wash these I look like I’ve been running on the playground all day lol. I wish I could allocate time to rebraid my whole head every 3-4 weeks.

After this style, I’m considering twists, with a little added hair, so I’ll need to redo my whole head.

I probably read it somewhere but can’t recall, are your braids going to be with added hair, or fully homegrown?
